U.N. Agreement Should Have All Gun Owners Up In Arms

It may not come as surprising news to many of you that the United Nations doesnt approve of our Second Amendment. Not one bit. And they very much hope to do something about it with help from some powerful American friends. Under the guise of a proposed global Small Arms Treaty premised to fight terrorism, insurgency and international crime syndicates you can be quite certain that an even more insidious threat is being targeted our Constitutional right for law-abiding citizens to own and bear arms.
What, exactly, does the intended agreement entail?

If they want them, they’ll get the ammunition first. No law or treaty surpasses the Bill of Rights. I don’t need the SCOTUS to rule on that; I just need accurate windage. I’m old enough so dying fighting wouldn’t have that much of a negative impact on me.

Obama and Hillary are just about orgasmic over this.
Theyare too stupid to real;ize that Americans are not going to give up their guns for the UN.
First the Senate has to approve it.
I don’t see that happening , and if it does I see the SHTF.

Under the guise of a proposed global Small Arms Treaty premised to fight terrorism, insurgency and international crime syndicates...Insurgency is the big one here. The goal is to thwart the resistance to oppressive governments, and those which intend to become such. Clearing the way for progressivism to make drones of most, for the benefit of a few.
Should things go in an ugly direction, most of us will be the insurgents, the resistance; some with weapons and others by means of sabotage and disinformation.

It only shows how LOW we have sunk as a nation, that we let a beggar organization like the UN tell us what to do in our own home.
Without our tax dollars, the UN would not exist.

There are a number of FReepers that mistakenly believe treaties are handled with care and all Senators know to vote on them. The Constitution requires only a majority of “those present” to ratify a treaty, and as you point out, many treaties are ratified underhandedly.

You can't lose a God given right. It is eternal and irrevocable. Most LEO or military would reject such an illegal law or order because the only way to take guns away is by amending or abolishing the Constitution. Those that choose to try an enforce an illegal order will die quickly and stupidly.

Check this out...@
PROCEEDINGS AND DEBATES OF THE 106th CONGRESS, SECOND SESSIONPage S10658
RECESS
The PRESIDING OFFICER. Under the previous order, the Senate stands in recess until the hour of 2:15 p.m.
Thereupon, the Senate, at 12:29 p.m., recessed until 2:17 p.m., whereupon, the Senate reassembled when called to order by the Presiding Officer (Mr. GREGG).
The PRESIDING OFFICER. The Senator from Wyoming is recognized.
Mr. THOMAS. I suggest the absence of a quorum.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. The clerk will call the roll.
The assistant legislative clerk proceeded to call the roll.
Mr. THOMAS. Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent that the order for the quorum call be rescinded.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. Without objection, it is so ordered. As The Congressional Record shows this happened repeatedly throughout the day.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
EXECUTIVE CALENDARUNANIMOUS CONSENT AGREEMENT
Mr. THOMAS. Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent that the Senate proceed to executive session to consider the following treaties on todays Executive Calendar. They will consist of Nos. 20 through 53.
I further ask unanimous consent that the treaties be considered as having passed through their various parliamentary stages up to and including the presentation of the resolutions of ratification; all committee provisos, reservations, understandings, declarations be considered and agreed to; that any statements be printed in the CONGRESSIONAL RECORD as if read; further, that when the resolutions of ratification are voted upon, the motion to reconsider be laid upon the table, the President be notified of the Senates action, and that following the disposition of the treaties, the Senate return to legislative session.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. Without objection, it is so ordered.
Mr. THOMAS. Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent that the clerk report each treaty by title prior to the vote on each treaty, and further I ask for a division vote on each resolution of ratification.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. Is there objection? Without objection, it is so ordered. The treaties will be considered to have passed through their various parliamentary stages up to and including the presentation of the resolutions of ratification, which the clerk will report.
The "dead of night" quip of mine was a euphemism.
As all can see it happened in broad daylight.
S10667
The PRESIDING OFFICER. A division has been requested.
Senators in favor of the ratification of this treaty, please raise their hand. (After a pause.) Those opposed will raise their hands.
With two-thirds of the Senators present having voted in the affirmative, the resolution of ratification is agreed to.
Mr. THOMAS. I thank the Presiding Officer, the Senator from West Virginia, and the clerk.
By the way, just for information, these treaties were all approved by the Foreign Relations Committee on October 4 and 5.
2/3 of Congress wasn't there. The quorum call was rescinded with no objection.

Only politicians care what the UN thinks. American citizens don’t care what the UN thinks about the US or what any other country thinks about us. I personally could care less.
The UN is totally anti-American. We need to get out of the UN and then kick the UN out of New York and put them over in the Hague where they belong.

It can be done in the dark of night with 34 Senators. Please don't think that beyond Dirty Harry Reid's usual degree of connivance.

I would have qualms about shooting an American Policeman or Soldier, but a Blue helmet who has no business being here anyway? Of course they would probably have Americans wearing the blue helmets. We have carried the fighting load for the UN since it’s inception.

Contacted my 2 senators to vote against this treaty. Both are gun control freak Dem's.
The following is the comment I got back from one senator..(an really bullshit response designed to say she is voting for it, but for good reasons (that are not well thought out)..
“Thank you for contacting me regarding the UN Arms Trade Treaty. I appreciate hearing from you on this matter.
In 2006 the United Nations General Assembly requested that the Secretary-General of the UN establish a group of governmental experts to draft parameters binding nations to common international standards with respect to import, export, and transfer of conventional arms. Between 2009 and 2012, the UN will hold Open Ended Work Group Meetings and Preparatory Committee Meetings in order to draft a treaty to be voted on at the 2012 UN Conference.
In October of 2009 Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stated that “the US is committed to actively pursuing a strong and robust treaty that contains the highest possible, legally-binding standards for the international transfer of conventional weapons.” By limiting the use and exchange of small arms, state's can reduce the amount of irresponsible arms transfers to terrorist and radical organizations. This can ultimately help achieve a common goal by all nations - protecting their citizens while protecting their national sovereignty. While the UN Arms Trade Treaty has not come to a vote on the Senate floor, I assure you that your concern will be considered in my decision making process.
Thank you again for contacting me to share your thoughts on this matter. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future if I can be of further assistance.
Sincerely,
Maria Cantwell
United States Senator”
