RINOs sure go nuts when you refuse to go along with their statist plans for us. Just like liberals.

By the way, I doubt I’ve ever said a cross word about Hannity. Oh, maybe a little critiquing here or there as I’m wont to do (critiquing the media is part of the job y’know) but I doubt I’ve ever kicked him under any buses.

As far as our budget is concerned, a link to it has been posted on our donation page for at least the last 10 years or so. Have no idea why anyone would think I’m trying to hide it. Not unlike most other businesses, our largest expense is compensation for the four of us who operate FR. We all have mortgages and debts and have to pay the light bills, eat and pay taxes just like everyone else. And we seldom eat at the Olive Garden. None of us are independently wealthy and I announced on FR many, many years ago that I do not have the financial wherewithal to fund it myself. This was way back when we had only a couple two or three thousand posters signed up and we out grew the service we were hosted on. We swamped them and were basically kicked off the service. We had a choice to make then, find a way to fund it or shut it down. It was just a hobby at the time so no big deal, but the FReepers thought it was worthwhile to continue. We now have over three hundred thousand accounts signed up. It was the FReepers who came up with the idea of funding FR by FReepathons. We’ve been following suit ever since.

And I’m pretty glad we continued because we had some great successes during the Clinton years. Bob Barr credited us for getting Clinton impeached. That’s one for the history books. Then there was the little blowup in 2000 when Owl Gore attempted his coup d’etat. FR was thick in that battle too. And again in 2004 when the FReepers took down Dan Rather and helped swiftboat John F’n Kerry. And, of course, our part in the 2010 tea party sweeps. And our hundreds of other smaller adventures, rallies, protests, etc, in nearly every city in this great land all during the Clinton years, the Bush years, the war years, and now the struggle to help save America from the Marxists and statists. We were the tea party before there was a tea party.

We can fold up FR and go away anytime the FReepers feel it is no longer viable or worthwhile. Either that or we could take a shot at funding it via commercial advertising. I’d rather not go that route though, if we can possibly prevent it. I think it would change the entire purpose and nature of FR. I kind of like being totally independent and genuinely grassroots oriented. And I really like the freedom to speak my mind. Well, maybe I do rant and rave a bit too much, and I’m pretty quirky, some say an ideologue or a “purist” (now that’s a laffer) and some say a tyrant even an ogre or a “mean shit” but sometimes I just can’t help myself. I was raised in an earlier time, way back when America was a free country and God and country were worth fighting for. It’s hard for an old dog to change his ways or go along with all this RINO statist b/s.

Thank you all very much for making FR the leading pro-God, pro-life, pro-liberty conservative website on the planet!!

God bless America!!

God bless the FReepers!!

FReepers ROCK the world!!

We are the resistance!!

I often like Hannity’s message, but his presentation sucks. Really sucks.
Ann Coulter has lost me. I no longer pay her any mind.

Mitt Romney as a candidate is about the worst we could have found, and the fact is we didn’t find him, he was foisted on us because the Republican leadership thought it was his turn.I will vote for him, of course, the Obama choice is too repugnant to even give thought to.

I have been her for a while, under a different alias previously, and have been suspended under this one once.
I sometimes let my angst run away with me.I am a man of little educational background, and sometimes express myself with the verbage not appropriate for a public forum. I am also a man who does not mind being called a racist when I answer the racism of the other side.

I enjoy the site, some of the people here I do not enjoy, but in a site like this I wouldn’t want us all to agree, we need to see the other points of view.

One thing I do believe, this year is pivotal for our country. If we lose to Obama we will never see real Freedom again in this country.

God bless you, JimRob. I have been around since pretty much the beginning, changed my handle about 10 years ago and lost the early posts. I remember the very first comment about my posts was, “Where did you come from?” I had been posting about abortion. That was in about 1995.
Most recently I have been posting about Romney, likening him to Judas. These are dire, dark days and there is no light on the horizon. Thanks for hanging in, Jim. The silly piece you posted contained no facts, just vomit.

Gee Jim, the only thing left out

I’ve posted here a long time and see no reason to

I've been around almost from the beginning and remember key events exactly as you describe them.

Likewise, I do not recall your ever being mean to Sean Hannity. Moreover, the positions attributed to Sean in the article do not ring true - except perhaps as an anti-Freeper's wishful thinking.

Thank you so much for recounting the history of Free Republic and thank you for keeping her going all this time, a place for like-minded political activists. It would have been easy to be a "me too" bbs, forum or blog.

If any Freeper out there wants to curtail or even end the Freepathon method of fundraising, the best solution is to become a monthly donor.

Poor Hannity, he must have been cornfuzed when this True Blewer confornted him with his anti-Fr tirade.

Hannity went overboard when posters at FR (myself included) called hin on his RINO positions.

He’s an OK guy in my book, just a little too milque toast politically for my taste.

Free Republic will continue to ROCK BIG TIME no matter what lies are spread about it and you across the dark recesses of the www.

It’s all recycled tripe anyway.

TrueBlew is CP-lite!

I’ve broken bread with you and your family, all of you and bunches of Freepers too sometimes many times.

Never at the Olive Garden.

Anti-FR lore is that we need to order from glossy pictures...LOL

“We can fold up FR and go away anytime the FReepers feel it is no longer viable or worthwhile”

I donate $20 or so here and there and I find that is a good price for admission. If that means you get to live high on the hog at Olive Garden (hehe) so be it. Hell, I’ll give you another $10 so you can have the all-you-can-eat lunch soup and salad. Buy a man lunch and he returns us FR; not a bad trade at all! FR has done more good than any other web site out there and has some of the most talented members.
