The most infuriating moment in my political memory is when G.H.W. Bush got all tongue-tied when Clinton said “You are questioning my patriotism”.
Bush should have gotten right in his face and said “Damn right, I am!”
Clinton dissed his country while studying overseas. Clinton visited Moscow at the height of the Cold War and at a time when the KGB would have taken intense interest in any politically motivated American kid on their territory.
There are more examples, but that is good for a start.

just saw an obamao commercial yesterday where he made the claim that he single-handedly tried to save the oil industry. I think I threw up a little in my mouth just typing that, but that was the claim made. And of course, he approved the message...
