Disclosure forms reveal that Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a member of Congress from Florida, previously held funds with investments in Swiss banks, foreign drug companies, and the state bank of India. This revelation comes mere days after the Democratic chair attacked presumptive Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney for holding money in Swiss bank accounts in the past.
"Americans need to ask themselves, why does an American businessman need a Swiss bank account and secretive investments like that?" the DNC chair, a chief surrogate for President Obama's reelection team, said on Fox News Sunday two days ago. "Just something, a thought, that I'd like to leave folks with."

The dem’s attacks on MR do seem to be having an impact right now...who knows if it will still be effective a week from now. MR’s pol team needs to come up with a better response than ignoring the attact. Good grief...even Gov Bailey said MR should show more tax returns.

I ceretainly hope that letter was actually drafted, sent and widely reported. If so, I missed it.
You really think a small amount of money put into a 401k is the same as proactively investing/parking millions of dollars into off shore/foreign accounts? I don’t. But I wasn’t really referring to what I think of DWS’ investments. I’m more interested in how MR and his handlers are managing this campaign.
It could also be I just despise MR so much I’m not seeing the ‘positive’ aspects of MR and how he’s running this campaign. I really do loathe MR. It’s so dang hard to even look at him let alone hear him speak. And maybe it’s just me, but why does he always appear to be hiding behind his wife when they have a joint interview?

As a professional politician for nearly twenty continuous years, she bloody well better know where her money's been going if she's going to cast aspersions on others.
Her father is a CPA so she shouldn't be a stranger to these things.
I get that you and I know who she is...and that you think she’s done the same thing as MR in parking her money outside the USA. Doesn’t mean the avg person on the street is going to see it the same. Also doesn’t mean that her stink clears the air for MR’s stink to be forgotten.

Anyone invested in funds likely owns foreign investments. Most pooled pension plans invest in funds.
IOW everyone in Congress has foreign investments and much of the American public including government, fed, state, and city, employees.

Kerry-who-fought-in-Vietnam has a similarly expansive international investment portfolio.
Someone should ask DWS which is worse, a person legally shielding their income from taxes by investing it outside of the US ... or a person engaging in fraudulent real estate transaction(s) with a now-convicted felon?!
