S E N A T E C A N D I D A T E O F T H E W E E K: JOSH MANDEL
July 10, 2012 | firebrand

Posted on 07/10/2012 6:43:22 PM PDT by firebrand

This is the first of a series that will highlight some close Senate races for November.

Those of us in blue states are privileged to be able to support candidates in other states that have a better chance of winning than those in our own state.

Randita and InterceptPoint have done the groundwork on this concept, and I will link to the pertinent thread below.

Although the Josh Mandel race is not in the Top Ten, as determined by the experts, it is number 11, and is important for several reasons.

Foremost among them is that Mandel is for everything conservatives believe in, and his opponent, Sherrod Brown, has been named one of the eight most liberal members of Congress by the National Journal.

Mandel, now the State Treasurer of Ohio, has called for the repeal of Obamacare. He is for fewer regulations and less taxation, whereas Sherrod Brown has voted for Obamacare, Dodd-Frank, and the $831 billion stimulus bill. In fact, the president flew him back to DC when commercial airlines could not get him there in time for the stimulus bill vote.

Sherrod Brown has a 0 rating from the ACU, having voted against every one of the ACU's recommendations in 2011.

Mandel has received the Marine Cops Achievement Medal for his service in Iraq and has been endorsed by Jim DeMint's Senate Conservative Fund, the Club for Growth, Rob Portman, and Mark Levin, among many others.

Mandel believes "Israel is our best friend and ally in the Middle East."

As far as funding, Mandel has $5.3 million, behind Sherrod Brown by a million dollars, but he has been closing the gap as the funds pour in, and the polling has shown him closing the point gap as well.

Ohio ping here.

We Freepers across America must work together to take control of the US Senate! Here in Florida we are working to make sure Senator Bill Nelson goes into retirement!

Our Republican Primary is August 14th and we Floridians will join together in support of the winner who will face Bill Nelson in November!

Well since I am finding it hard to bring myself to support Romney perhaps I will whole heartedly support Mandel and Romney might just hitch a ride on his coat tails ;)

“Although the Josh Mandel race is not in the Top Ten, as determined by the experts...”

Balderdeash, Bull $hit, Bovine Feces...Josh Mandel’s Senate race is No 1 for those of us who care in Ohio. And seriously, how can one Senate race, where a leftist Demoncrat needs to be defeated by a Republican Candidate be considered higher in importantance than any other similar race? I know Josh Mandel is a conservative. ‘Nuff said.

Brown was flown in from his mother’s funeral to be the deciding vote on the “stimulus”, he was the deciding vote on Obamacare, and he is, according to the last listing I saw, the most liberal member of the Senate, which, in a body that has Bernie Sanders among its members, saying quite a lot.

We thought our junior senator in NY had that honor, but I see that the ACU has rated her a 5, whereas Sherrod Brown is 0.
