The Detroit PDs official version of events surrounding the shooting of Adaisha Miller continues to unravel or become clearer depending how you look at it. From the beginning, the story fed to the media stank worse than the dumpsters at the Fulton Fish Market during a summer garbage strike. Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee, Jr. showed almost Clintonian chutzpah yesterday standing before the press and continuing to push the tragic, hug-from-behind, the gun just went off scenario. We wouldnt have been surprised to hear him stridently affirm that Officer Parrish didnt have sexual relations with that woman, Ms. Miller. Finger wag and all. But even notoriously firearm-ignorant mainstream media types knew enough to wonder how a backside embrace can result in a downward shot to the thorax. The answer: she was in front of him, on her knees . . .
Which is what plenty of those who commented here after our initial IGOTD post speculated. This, from bostonherald.com:
Miller was dancing behind Officer Isaac Parrish at his home in Archdale and was on her knees and tugging at Parrishs waist when his holstered gun fired, striking her in the chest, a police official familiar with the investigation said Tuesday.
What could she have been doing on her knees at the fatal fish fry?
The official said the angle of the gunshot is possible because Miller was not standing and described it as some type of exotic dance.
You usually have to put down at least a Benjamin for that kind of exotic entertainment. Or so we hear.
As Richard Nixon (or Eric Holder, for that matter) will tell you, its not the crime so much as its the cover-up that gets your areolas firmly clamped in the old wringer. Chief Godbees blown any credibility he may have once had by attempting to cover up an awkward fatality with such a transparently bullshit laden story. Can you keep your job as a big city top cop after something like this? Maybe only in Detroit.
Best guess: it really was an accident. Officer Parrish was at a party being serviced by a woman who was inconveniently not his wife when the exotic Ms. Miller became a little too demonstrative and yanked on his gun in its POS soft holster. He may have been drunk, too, not that well ever know for sure since his brothers in blue didnt administer a breathalyzer test. Cause that could have been awkward, what with the dead body there on the floor and erything. Say what you want about the Motor City, but their thin blue line sure sticks together.
She was 'hugging his behind', not 'hugging him from behind'. The initial version was close to the truth.
Seems to be some confusion regards guns and weapons going off.
He is probably lucky she didn’t bite down when the gun went off, either gun.
I'm going to further guess that what happened is that she undid his belt, his pants started to fall due to the weight of his gun, he grabbed for it and it went off.
If the above guess is correct, then the officer is liable for negligence charges.
I still think that the WIFEY did it.
She was ‘dancing’ with her husband when Ms. Miller grabbed his behind from behind. It would be easy for her to reach in, grab his gun, and fire it. Only Officer Parrish would know what happened, and I’m sure he isn’t going to tell.
Officer Parrish was at a party being serviced by a woman who was inconveniently not his wife...
Karma is a bit@h.
My first suspicion was that she was on her knees being forced at gunpoint; the firearm was a perfectly safe Glock; and the cop was a perfectly trained thug of the worst sort.
And yet somehow his wife, who was dancing with him at the time, didn't notice Ms. Miller on her knees in between them.???
post of the morning...
When it was all over and the who struck johns figured out they prosecuted the guy!
He went to prison for a good long while.
I am almost positive in Detroit “Adaisha” is spelled “A-A” the “-” not be silent.
I'm going to guess that the wife would be worse off if hubbie goes to jail and loses his pay and pension.
I doubt it. There were other people there who would have to collaborate the story. Covering up deliberate murder on behalf of a buddy's wife is not something the average guy will do. If anything, they would see it as a benefit to their buddy if wife goes to prison for life, as he gets the property and kids, and gets to acquire a new, younger wife.
Famous Last words:
“Baby, is that a pistol in your pocket or are you happy to see me?”
From the first time I heard about this I envisioned a variation on the time Janice Soprano 'serviced' Richie Aprile....
Gee, I don't know. This is a hard one.
That's probably the way it went down.
