HOUSTON -- Vice President Joe Biden rallied support for President Barack Obama before the nation's largest civil rights organization on Thursday, telling the NAACP that Obama has the "character of his convictions."

Biden drew cheers as he credited Obama for championing a landmark health care law, launching the mission that killed al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden and stepping in to rescue the financial system and U.S. automakers General Motors and Chrysler.

"He has put country first," Biden said.

...

The vice president countered that Romney's policies would hurt black working families, and he outlined detailed differences between Obama and Romney on health care, education, energy, women's rights and research.

From the picture taken right before Biden spoke that I just saw on another thread, I don’t think anyone was there to boo him.

True story. Biden came to campaign for BO in a town near us. The event was in a local high school gym, well advertised in advance and free tickets widely available. It was also in the middle of the day. They claimed "about 500" people showed up, but there were no pictures of the audience or even news pans focused on anything other than the stage and his amen chorus which came along. If there were 500 people, at least 3/5th of them were on stage or in the media.

Sarah Palin made a campaign stop at our local airport which was announced less than 24 hours before. Some 6000 people showed up at 6 a.m. to greet her.

Mitt Romney got APPLAUSE numerous times in his speech.

The barking moonbat liberal loons don’t even believe their own BULLSTALIN.

They just sow the seeds of hate like all Reds do.

Apparently, the hall was very empty of racist blacks. So no one was there to protest nor approve:

“The vice president countered that Romney’s policies would hurt black working families”

To the Dems, "working families" appears to be code for "working in government or union". Considering that blacks disproportionately work for government, anything which slows the growth of government hurts "black working families".

Black unemployment rates are astronomical, especially if you also address specifics like summer jobs.

Blacks have to know this. They have to remember what employment was like under Bush.

Do these folks have a fiscal death wish or what?

Clapping and cheering Biden, as he talks about Obama’s love of them? Seriously?

This actually fits into some of the most vile stereotypes about Blacks, and I find it extremely sad.

I’m White, most folks know it, but what’s important is that I want everyone to live a good productive happy life. With the outlook the Blacks exhibit at times, it reveals a mindset that almost guarantees a bad non-productive unhappy life. And by their voting habits, they reveal that this is what they seem to want.

That’s just tragic. And they think I want them to fail?

I can’t imagine a more depressing self-defeatist attitude to reveal to the world.
