It could be one of the biggest political intelligence coups of the 2012 battle to control Congress. Media Trackers, a conservative investigative watchdog group, discovered nearly three-dozen Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee opposition research notebooks extensive secretive manuals outlining anything that could be used against a political opponent. Several news outlets have reported that some of the files have been quietly published on the DCCCs website to facilitate their use by independent expenditure groups. On Thursday, however, Media Trackers published a dozen opposition research books that Democrats have so far managed to keep secret.
The twelve unpublished manuals range in size from a few dozen pages to hundreds of pages, depending on the personal, business and civic record of the Republican target. Incumbent members of Congress, like Floridas Allen West and Californias Dan Lungren, have long files, whereas the individual Republican candidates in North Carolinas 7th Congressional District share a single book.
Democrats expanded the research division of the DCCC at the start of the 2012 cycle in an effort to create good political intelligence for their drive to capture 25 seats in the House and swing control of the majority away from Republicans.
An apparent IT failure at the DCCC caused the books to become available via Google searches that combined targeted candidates names with opposition research search terms. They appeared in both Microsoft Word and PDF form (though Media Trackers had to convert the Word documents to PDF to upload them below) on a URL linked to a file sharing and storage service used by, among others, the DCCC.

They can't even get that correct.
Sounds like interesting reading. Thx for posting.
leafed through Allen West’s. Nothing to surprising in there. It is actually interesting to see how they collect and organize this info.
One wonders if a search was done for similar “research” information of members of the press that serve to keep the so-called journalists on the liberal cheer-leading squad.
I call this EPIC GOP fail. If these files are so great...WHy on EARTH would you dare tell your enemy you have them? So they can change their tactics?
You don't announce it...you hold it. Use it. Then after the elction is over...MOCK them with it.
This is like letting the enemy know you found their battle plan. To me...revealing that to the enemy is treason.
Unless the DNC planted it for mis-information. That’s also a possibility. They are a sneaky enemy.
I tend to believe stupidity when it comes to the DCCC.
You gotta read what ‘they’ consider damaging to Allen West. Lord, how I love that man!
It’s not what they find, it’s how they will spin it 24/7.
Great, great, great!
Since the DNC cannot communicate directly with the "independent" smear groups, they have to engage in questionable actions to circumvent election laws.

You know they did! :)
“You gotta read what they consider damaging to Allen West. Lord, how I love that man!”
LOL...yeah like this quote...guess they look at this as a threat :)
West wrote I must confess, when I see anyone with an Obama 2012 bumper sticker, I recognize them as a threat to the gene pool. [Weekly Update, 7/18/2011]
Well now we know where the MSM will be getting all their talking points. (like we didn’t know before).

Completely unnecessary. They form an all-volunteer army, having given up any pretense whatsoever of being impartial journalists.
