A majority of Florida voters oppose the national health care law and half want it repealed, a new Miami Herald/Tampa Bay Times/Bay News 9 poll shows two weeks after President Barack Obamas signature achievement was largely upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Only 43 percent of voters statewide support the Affordable Care Act and 52 percent oppose it, with 5 percent undecided. With the exception of southeast Florida, more voters think the law will make the health care system worse.
More voters also favor the state opting out of provisions of the law, something Gov. Rick Scott has already said it would do.
And 50 percent want to see Republicans follow through on their vow to repeal the law, with 43 percent saying it should remain.
In perhaps the most worrisome sign for Obama and Democrats, only 39 percent of voters 65 years or older support the law. Seniors make up about 30 percent of the overall states electorate.
Florida voters didnt like it a year ago, two years ago, (and) they still dont like it, said pollster Brad Coker. Theres nothing there to that suggests health care is a winner for Obamas people.
Obama has played down the law on the campaign trail, saying the country is ready to move past the divisive debate of two years ago, but the poll illustrates the opportunity for presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney to continue calls for the laws repeal....

Public healthcare - will be the same.
I live in S.E. FL.
While a beautiful place to live, it is CONTAMINATED with liberals. 66% of Broward voted for Sink.
But a majority living in the rest of the state is going to save your bacon!
Will be ignored by the Obama butt kissers in south Florida TV news. They're too busy sucking up to Michelle and Barack.
There were no committee hearings, no floor debate, they kept rewriting it up to the moments before votes, no Congressman or Senator read it, Obama had not read it, Scotus declined to read it, and by now it is very clear that no one understands it.
I want my America back.
“Public education - the colossal, constantly needing more money failure that has damaged generations and is crippling our nation.
Public healthcare - will be the same.”
Will be? Try is see Medicare & medicaid.
When you give someone something for free you remove from that person the natural mechanics to control its uses/abuse. People are creatures of the world around them. We structure our lives to use resources in proportion to their obtain-ability. That cost/benefit (AKA supply/demand) model is essential to keeping things things in balance.
I’ve heard with respect to Florida the further south you go the further north you go.
You right of course, the problem with Florida is the Yankee invasion. Leftist from up north have for generations been abandoning their northern trash heaps and going south to places like Florida for the weather. The problem is they take their politics with them, and given its leftist politics that means they invariably encroach upon the rights of the locals.
One of many reasons I left South Florida. Not fit to raise a family there. Of course we got a whole new set of issues after moving out to New Mexico...
