Although Romney cannot allow MSM foibles to dictate his choice, I DO think that he needs to pick a VP nominee who can pass the (silly) “Palin Test” of the sort administered by Katie Couric.
Not fair that this is the case, but I think that it is: VP must be ALREADY READY to do the “name the capital of Kreplach-i-stan” things that Palin, initially and unfairly, was asked to do.

Hey dodo, Palin answered every question asked by everyone quite correctly. It was the fact that she was so astute that was a big part of the problem.
Had she failed to answer so perfectly, they wpuld have loved her.
The MSM will throw "gotcha" questions at any opponent and declare any brain-dead democrat a genius.
There is no correct answer or middle ground or compromise, you are either with them or against them. It is pure partisanship.
