Romney Demands Apology For Obama Campaign's 'Felon' Lie

This morning, the Obama team, springboarding from mainstream media coverage it had likely astroturfed, said that Mitt Romney was either a “felon” or a liar. Its mainstream media lackeys quickly played it up. And this morning, the Obama team was completely debunked by members of its own media, who were shamed into telling the truth by an enraged New Media. Now, the Romney campaign is calling for an apology from the Obama campaign and a retraction from the Boston Globe.

“President Obama’s campaign hit a new low today when one of its senior advisers made a reckless and unsubstantiated charge to reporters about Mitt Romney that was so over the top that it calls into question the integrity of their entire campaign,” said Matt Rhoades, Campaign Manager of Romney For President. “President Obama ought to apologize for the out-of-control behavior of his staff, which demeans the office he holds. Campaigns are supposed to be hard fought, but statements like those made by Stephanie Cutter belittle the process and the candidate on whose behalf she works.”

Another day, another Obama campaign implosion on Bain Capital.

Yesterday, official mainstream media Obama bootlicker Greg Sargent of the Washington Post explained why the Obama campaign was so intent on targeting Bain Capital:

The goal is twofold: First, to undermine Romney’s principle case for the presidency, i.e., that his business background makes him a “job creator” who is equipped to turn around the country’s economy. And second, to define Romney in a way that makes it easier for voters to understand his true policy goals and priorities on entitlements, taxes, and other issues.

And thus the Obama campaign has sought to exploit the Bain Capital issue in a variety of ways. Each time, they’ve failed epically:

•When the Obama team first attacked Romney for his time at Bain Capital, Corey Booker and Bill Clinton quickly struck back, reminding Obama that attacking private equity was outrageous;
•When the Obama team, led by DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, attacked Romney for having offshore accounts, the New Media reminded the old media that Wasserman Schultz had offshore accounts of her own, and that Romney has never been accused of illegality in any way, shape, or form;
•When the Obama team attacked Mitt Romney with false charges of outsourcing via an obviously coordinated story in the Washington Post, the New Media immediately debunked the story and forced the media to back down;
•Now, the Obama team has tried to pretend that Romney was still running Bain Capital between 1999 and 2002 by deliberately misreading federal filings – and the New Media has debunked them and forced the mainstream media into compliance.

If Romney made similar comments about Obama, the entire MSM, and all the spinners and campaign operatives would go into thermonuclear apoplexy for several consecutive days over how outrageous it was to say it and demand apologies and say it shows how unfit Romney is to be prez and on and on... and Romney would end up apologizing. They make the accusation, the SRM runs it front and center on the front pages and top of the hour news.

Then when they get called down, they bury that, if they admit it at all after they get the next big lie rolling.

It’s not about truth, merely trying to sway the dumb masses who just listen to and take what the SRM says hook, line and sinker.
