Mark Levin: Picking Condi Rice for VP is bad politics and a bad idea (video at link)

Posted on 07/12/2012 7:25:43 PM PDT by tsowellfan

Mark Levin tells Romney to stop playing it safe and to “pick a damn conservative”, that Condi Rice for VP is a bad idea because we’d be defending Bush policies and Bain Capital all the way to November. He says we have a great conservative bench the he can pull from and that’s exactly what he should do.

Condi while very smart is NOT a conservative. But it really doesn’t matter, the republican leadership are all socialists anyway.

Why would Rice be a good choice? She would be a terrible choice. Blacks aren’t going to vote for Romney anyway. Rice is not pro-Israel and she is pro-abortion. She adds nothing to the ticket. I hope the Romney campaign is not dumb enough to pick her.

Demint, Gingrich and Allen West, Alan Keyes

I’d add Paul Ryan but the man is too good and should stay where he’s at. Very valuable there.

RINO Romney picks...

RINO Condi.

This is the formula for certain defeat.

Agreed--Rice would be a terrible choice. She has no elective experience, she is too liberal (when Romney still needs to win over a lot of the conservative base which distrusts him) and I don't think she was that stellar as Secretary of State. (Maybe better than Powell because she wasn't actually disloyal to the President.)

She should stick with what she is good at--academics, music, sports.

Maybe Mitt is getting too much pressure from his wife to pick a woman.

Peggy Noonan thinks she would be a good choice--another reason to think the opposite.

Romney already has a passion deficit. Why on earth bring aboard a VP who is equally passionless, and not a conservative? Bad, bad idea.

Amen! I do wonder if all of this is just a huge smoke screen and designed to redirect everyone’s attention. It is just too carefully orchestrated. First Mrs. R says something about picking a female, then Rice shows up at the big meeting, then the teaser on Drudge. We all know he has some members on his team who are very capable of being devious.

If Romney does pick a Black person as his VP - which I don’t think he will - I would vote for West or Hermann. I would prefer West not only because he is a staunch Conservative but he also has the military experience which is a huge void with Romney. Rice needs to go back to her shoe shopping and piano playing, Rubio and Paul need to stay in the Senate.

Very advisable for the Romney camp to listen to Mr. Levin. Not only in this case but on all things Constitutional.

Condi’s philosophy is right in line with Karl Marx. How can you admire a Marxist? She looks good and sounds good, until you hear what she actually says—and what ideology she stands for-—and BARF!!!!!!

She is on the same wave length as Colin Powell and Zero and Satan.

True, she looks good and if you don’t listen to content, she sounds intelligent. Of course, she thinks exactly like Romney. We need a real Conservative.

You are absolutely off your rocker. This woman voted for OBAMA. She could not even bring herself to vote for a RINO like McCain over her race. She is anti-Israel...pro-abortion...and the list goes on.

She is NOT a conservative. So please tell me...WHAT is there to admire (to the extent you would want her as President if Romney croaked)?

Condi Rice. (nothing against her) but I'VE had it up to here with blame Bush - blame Bush blame Bush - blame Bush blame Bush - blame Bush blame Bush - blame Bush blame Bush - blame Bush blame Bush - blame Bush

Why give Obama a key to continue to blame Bush - blame Bush blame Bush - blame Bush blame Bush - blame Bush.

I like Sara and at least SHE is a conservative but does Romney really deserve Palin? She's still trying to recover from running with McCain.

I certainly would prefer West but don’t think the Romney team would accept that choice. I pray that he picks someone with military experience though. I’m tired of our guys and gals getting their butts kicked because of incompetent leadership.

Agreed. I have absolutely no passion for Romney. I only have passion against Obama. What a shame we ended up with this candidate. Hopefully he will pick someone like Allen West. I have my doubts about that too unfortunately.

Levin is correct, this would be a TERRIBLE mistake on Mittens part. The last thing you want to do is bring in ANYONE from the Bush administration.

Condi Rice is a good person and she is smart as hell, but she is a Bushie and Romney will only succeed in helping 0bama pin the “we don’t want to go back to the Bush years” on him.

Regardless of how bad 0bama has been, most independents still have a low opinion of Bush and his time in office. This could cost him the election.

“Condoleezza Rice Won’t Reveal Who She’s Voting For in November 2008”

#1. She didn’t “reveal” in precise verbiage, but she did reveal in many subtle ways; there’s no doubt she supported Obama.

#12. As a GOP, she should have been supporting McCain-Palin, loudly, clearly, enthusiastically, and continually. She’s not stupid; she knew what Obama was. Playing coy and keeping silent when America’s future hung in the balance, made her a traitor. She could’ve had some positive influence on some black voters.

She’s pro abortion, pro gay marriage, and black before American. If Romney chooses her, it’ll be to his/our detriment. Still, it might be good strategy for Romney to have her name being kicked around for a while in order to have some blacks pay attention to our agenda whom otherwise might not.
