With The Drudge Report driving speculation that Condoleezza Rice is now a leading contender in the Republican veepstakes, campaign surrogates and supporters say Rice electrified Mitt Romney's circle last month with a speech she delivered at the candidate's closed-door June fundraising retreat in Park City.
Rice's forceful and surprisingly partisan 13-minute address audio of which has been obtained by BuzzFeed won her two standing ovations from the gathering of big-money donors and GOP elite. It was widely considered the highlight of the weekend, several people present told BuzzFeed.

No point in arguing the pros and cons if she’s not going to get the call, as it now appears she will not.
Agreed
I did not hear her speech. I am not a supporter of Condi for VP.
I am simply agreeing with her statement on Storming DC.
It is (Past) TIME to DownSize DC!
Uh, so what? Allen West has given 20 speeches I have actually seen which are more inspiring than that. And when WE actually DID "storm D.C." in 2010, WHERE WAS CONDI? Nowhere. Allen West was there. Steve King was there. Michele Bachmann was there. Condi was saying NOTHING about The Usurper. Only now, when there's a VP slot to fill, does she open her crooked mouth against this worst president ever.
TOO LITTLE TOO LATE! Find a REAL Conservative and let Condi wait for Roger Goodell to retire to find a new job.
Mitt, DO NOT DO THIS to Republicans, the American People or to yourself & your candidacy.
&&&
I second that!
Why the hell would anyone want to watch a debate between two chumps dumb enough to have voted for the Punk?
I’m not saying anything, but has she ever had a boyfriend? If not, the Democrats would sweep her out of the closet faster than an eagle could swoop up a field mouse. On the other issues, you are right. She takes evil people at face value, believes everything is negotiable, and has almost always come down on the wrong side. PLUS, people don’t want anyone connected with Bush back! Bob
“I have my doubts that Biden will be part of that debate. My guess is that sometime after Romney picks a running mate, Biden will be sent off to pasture and Obama will bring in someone to help create some new buzz for his campaign. Possibly a Latino or someone who could help in a battleground state (or both).”
His planned successor. Doesn’t want to leave his party like GW Bush did, with no successor.
They think we are stupid. She throws out this crump to conservative while being ms “globalism”— open borders— tolerent of baby killing. She is the worst..
I hope willard does pick Condi. Because I could then vote for a 3rd party candidate with a clear conscience.
True, Mitt needs an attack dog like Newt for VP. Mitt can’t do it, and a milquetoast pick will only weaken Mitt further.
Before team Obama has had their morning coffee, Newt will already have come out and ruined their day.
If Newt was picked, no way would Obama allow Biden to have a VP debate.
If Romney, even for a second, seriously considered Rice as his VP, he is even more stupid than I already thought he was.
Whoever Mitt chooses, I’m sure he’ll blow it. I’m expecting something equivalent to Bush’s selection of Harriet Meyers.
Newt is certainly Joe’s worst nightmare,(and I love that picture ;) but Allen West would do very nicely as well :)
May God guide us outta this mess.

“Allen West”
Yes, I would vote for him for any office he choses to run for. For President I would prefer him to Romney, along with several others.
He is not an “experienced” POL, to me that is a Plus Plus.
You will not find a single line in this post where I have supported Condi as VP. Not one.
BUT, the statement she made is noteworthy coming from an establishment GOP figure. Even the GOP-e knows it is time to field dress and gut DC.
Yes, indeed. May God once again guide this nation. The only path out of this mess.
Poke around and find Condi’s response to “gun control” and then tell me you don’t want her as VP, or better yet, P.
