Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has reportedly been mentioned as front-running candidate to become Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romneys vice presidential running mate, but Rice told CBS This Morning last month that there was no way she would run for vice president.
On June 26, CBS This Morning host Charlie Rose asked Rice, Let me bring this back full circle to politics we started at the retreat. Because of your speech, there has been some groundswell of enthusiasm about the possibility because of your experience, because of your sense of resonance with America that you might be the ideal running mate for Mitt Romney.
Charlie, I didnt run for student council president. I dont see myself in any way in elective office. I love policy. Im particular fond of politics. Governor Romneys going to make a great choice for vice president. Hes got terrific judgment. Theres a deep bench on the Republican side, Rice said.
Youre not saying you would turn him down if he calls, are you? Rose asked.
Im saying there is no way that I will do this, because its really not me. I know my strengths and Governor Romney needs to find someone who wants to run with him. There are many people who will do it very, very well, and Ill support the ticket, Rice, who was also national sercurity adviser for President George W. Bush, said.
Thats a 'no' or thats its not gonna happen? Rose asked.
Thats its not gonna happen and no, Rice replied with a laugh.
My opinion of Condi just went up a couple notches, reading that.
I trust that she’s a woman of her word.
Maybe the FR discussion temperature will drop a few degrees.
Even the thought of Condi is repulsive.
Thank God.
Like I said . . . this was just a smokescreen from a feckless and falling apart Romney campaign.

Rice on June 26 on Becoming Romney’s VP: ‘Im Saying There Is No Way That I Will Do This’
That’s what they all say until the day they are picked.
She has stated she wants to be NFL commissioner.
Goodall not going anywhere soon. He is a young man.
With that being said, I’m glad to read this today. I do not want Rice as VP. As a policy advisor, yes. Not as VP.
