Things are getting so rough in the Big Apple that even toddlers are getting mugged.
A cruel thug ripped a $400 gold chain off the neck of a 3-year-old boy who was sitting in his stroller and being pushed by his mom in Bedford-Stuyvesant in Brooklyn on Tuesday, law-enforcement sources said.
The crook and an accomplice attacked tot Harvey Hernandez in the lobby of his family’s Malcolm X Boulevard apartment building at 11:45 p.m. after following him, his teenage brother and mom Riyana Guerrero home from a Laundromat.
“I was screaming ‘Let go of my baby! Let go of my baby!’” the mom told The Post in Spanish yesterday.
“[The man] didn’t say anything — he just looked at us and laughed, almost mocking us.
“How could he do this to a helpless little baby!”

The article states more than once that the mother was walking her 2 kids on Malcolm X Blvd and the thugs followed here home into the lobby. Next time, try your own advise - before playing that old liberal refrain against "pronouncing judgment!"
I remember reading of a gang shootout where one gang member grabbed an 8 month pregnant woman and used her for a shield. I remember reading the police were horrified that the woman was shot through her abdomen several times.

You're not safe going out into the street, Ms. Guerrero. If you previously "felt" safe, you were delusional. If you lived in an American state, like North Carolina, you could get a gun to help protect your family and others, assuming you're a citizen, a non-felon, and all that.

I think we might be being played by Big Media and perhaps a couple of the posters here.
That must have been one big medallion for $400. The grandparents must not like the mama or they’d have invested in a washer/dryer for all the diapers and baby clothes she’ll be needing to clean rather than have her and grandbaby going to the laundry where thugs hang out. Though I suspect someone is lying about the price since I found nothing online coming anywhere close to $400 and most are less than $100.
"You know what I'm going to do. I know it's almost midnight, and this is a high crime area. But I'm going to put on $400 gold chain around the neck of my 3 year old, and take him/her out." Wasn't that a great idea?
