Feds Allow Florida Access to Data to Prevent Voter Fraud
Townhall.com ^ | July 14, 2012 | Helen Whalen Cohen

Posted on 07/14/2012 1:57:56 PM PDT by Kaslin

Earlier this year, the Obama Administration attempted to block Florida Governor Rick Scott's efforts to purge ineligible voters from Florida voter rolls. A review of drivers license data turned up 2,625 suspected ineligible voters. But the DOJ tried to stop the state from acting on this information.

Nearly two months later, and after getting smacked down by a judge, the Obama Administration is being ordered to help Florida clean up state voter rolls. This past week, the Department of Homeland Security agreed to let Florida access a law enforcement database to prevent non-citizens from voting.

The agreement, made in a letter to Florida Gov. Rick Scott's administration that was obtained by The Associated Press, grants the state access to a list of resident noncitizens maintained by the Department of Homeland Security. The Obama administration had denied Florida's request for months, but relented after a judge ruled in the state's favor in a related voter-purge matter.

It's not perfect. SAVE, or the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements can only identify people with an 'alien number', such as a green card holder or someone who has a work visa-in other words, people who are here legally but cannot vote. Those who are here illegally still slip under the radar. Still, Governor Scott told the AP that this is a "significant victory for Florida and for the integrity of our election system".

Officials in othe states such as Colorado are also seeking access to the SAVE database. Colorado's secretary of state, Scott Gessler says he wants to check the status of 5,000 registered voters.

What possible reason can there be to stop the purging of inelligible voters? What possible reason could one have to block this initiative? I am simply baffled by the actions of the Federal government.

The level of illegal voting in November will be astounding, and I fear decisive.

If the fed did not allow access to their database and legal action to challange the election in nov would be weakened...

The dems will cheat their asses off but they are taking away any legal barriers to challenge the count

The socialist democrats hate this country and will do everything in their power to bring her to her knees. The obama regime needs power to accomplish this and that's why they encourage voter fraud and lawsuits against states trying to enforce voter ID. Come November we must politically destroy this crowd and send them back to whatever hole they crawled out of.

“Why are they still here let alone on Voting lists.”

They’re the corrupt and criminal lib-dems’ secret *voting franchise*, queuing-up for the Nov 6th assault.

If you go to ANY agricultural town around the big lake they are full of nothing but ILLEGALS.
LaBelle, Pahoke’, South Bay, Belle Glades are majority illegal and ICE has NEVER been there.
Guess big sugar and big cattle and big citrus can buy off anything.

Many times inner city Dem precincts come in very late with their vote counts. What is to stop the poll workers there from clearing the reusable vote cards and using them over and over in the voter machines for people that they know have not come to vote: dead, moved, felons in jail, etc. Every precinct is supposed to have two judges from each major party but many times in completely Dem areas, there are no Republicans so Dems fill their spots. It is possible that this kind of voter fraud is far greater than any done by actual people showing up to vote who are not eligible.

We hear so much about voter fraud by reprogramming the computers. This is nearly impossible, but voting over and over for people who do not show up is very possible.

Let's keep perspective on this. These measures are finding smallish pockets of illegal voters. The real breach is the massive Motor Voter fraud.

Who knows what the real numbers are, when Census Bureau won't even / cannot even count, nor even estimate, the number of illegals now in-country. My own guess ranges toward (including children born or brought here illegally) 30,000,000. The numbers put out by Census are a joke, and a useful lie participated in by all the PTB, both RiNO and 'Rat.

“Feds allow”” Even the article states the “feds” were “smacked down” by a judge. The feds aren’t “allowing” anything. They lost! But the headline must be spun to make zero (the “feds” here) not look bad.

They must believe all voter registration cards have two check boxes — White and Non-White. Further, they must believe that all cards with Non-White checked will be invalidated.

Vote fraud and election stealing are obviously the only reasons for failing to purge voter rolls.

The Obama Administration is trying to look magnanimous here, but the numerical effect of their agreement with Florida on tamping down on fraud is practically nill - unless, by some strange coincidence, we get a repeat of the incredibly close race of 2000, where only a few hundred votes separate the candidates in a statewide.

Oh how I wish we still had local voting in precincts, with local people who knew who lived there manning the polls. When we got “Motor-voter” (you’re automatically registered to vote when you get a driver’s license), we now only have “vote-by-mail”, and now have no idea who and where votes are coming from. The Democrats in our state are as crooked as they come, and have a habit of “finding” boxes of additional ballots after the ballots are counted, and they’re behind. They somehow always manage to find boxes of ballots until they win. It’s obvious they have them all ready to “find” ahead of time in the event they’re needed. (And isn’t it amazing that hey’re nearly always all Democrat?)

My point is if the state of Florida could not access the database to check names of ineligible voters.... when the dems challenge the 2012 election as I am sure they will if it is another Bush -Gore type race....Their legal standing would be weakened...

What judge would give the dems standing if they did not allow Florida to check the federal database or in other words how can the dems claim their voters were disenfranchised if Florida was never allowed to check their status?

By allowing the database to be checked... The dems an now say all voters were checked and a legal challenge can be made....without any push back from the GOP saying the federal government impeded them...

It wouldn't be their legal standing that would be weakened. "Standing" has a specific legal meaning: you have standing when you have sufficient interest in the events complained of that you are eligible to be a plaintiff. No court would toss their case on a ruling of lack of standing.

What you mean, if I understand you correctly, is that the 'Rats substantive case would be weakened if feds did not allow allow Florida to inspect the list of (a relatively small subset of illegal) voters and to delete those names from the voter rolls accordingly. Still, 'Rats being 'Rats, they would surely concoct several other grounds for challenging the results; remember how they claimed that the butterfly ballot discriminted against Gore?

One way we Floridians can really help put a crimp in the DEM voter fraud is to volunteer to be poll watchers. It is an easy job, but one must apply with one’s county supervisor of elections.

http://election.dos.state.fl.us/SOE/supervisor_elections.shtml
The reason we see so many older folks being poll watchers, or working at the polls is because it is difficult for working folks to take election day off. Back when I was teaching, I used to take a sick day on election day to help out at the polls. Either helping or holding signs for my favorite candidates.:)

And yes, I had the fun of checking for “hanging chads” back during the 2000 election period. Volunteered two weeks for the recount! What fun!! Was great the best man won!!

Here's hoping lots of patriots work the polls this time around to help make sure only those who have the legal right to vote actually vote!!

By the way, most Floridians should have received their new voter card. Take note of your District changes and precinct changes if any. And tomorrow, 16th is the last day to change Party affiliation. Primary Election Day, Aug. 14th, will be here before we know it! Get to know your District changes and Congressional candidates here:

And maybe balance out the black panther presence. I don't think Florida will put up with it if the cops get called, even in Miami-Dade.
