Obama: "If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen."

Excerpt from the socialist-in-chief speech yesterday in Virginia:

"If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet."

I’m sorry but how has some guy sitting on his porch waiting for his welfare check or his 99th week of unemployment benefits helped the rich become rich ?

How have unions that parasitize entire industries helped business owners ?

Did the billions sent to Solyndra and other green companies that were already destined to fail help anyone succeed other than democrat politicians ?

These are the things the 5 Trillion in debt Obama has run up have been spent on. Buying votes with welfare benefits and union bribes. Guranteeing campaign cash by funnelling our taxes to big contributors and unions.

This is what Obama wants to steal more tax dollars for, not for things that help people succeed. These tax dollars are to promote the very things that make sure it’s impossible to get ahead in this country.

What this prick said really means that the fruits of your labor doesn’t belong to you, it belongs to society and if you are permitted to even enjoy a small portion, it is considered a gift from society. This shows their big ego and so-called self importance and they think they are smarter and know better than us ordinary folks.

This kind of brings back a time when I worked for a liberal manager in my old company and similar M.O. One thing I remember is when I took my vacation, that manager considered it a privilege to take it and made sure I knew it was a privilege such as requiring me to leave contact information and being required to return ASAP if so demanded. Of course this manager was so full of himself. Also when it came time for the company to encourage to give money to the United Way, I refused to give of course and he even mentioned that the money I earned was considered a gift and he told me I should be required to give some of my hard earned money to UW. I refused and he even brought up that he wouldn’t get a bonus unless there was 100 % participation.

“If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.”

This is very much a Marxian analysis.

To Marx and Engels and their followers the salient feature of business ownership is exploitation.

Management and entrepreneurship are treated with disdain, and the existence of businesses and capital are taken for granted.

Capital employed by business firms is merely the embodiment of past exploited labor.

Where Marx claimed that capital owed its existence to unpaid labor, Obama extends the analysis to contend that government activities are also a form of this unpaid labor exploited by business firms in a capitalist system.

It is quite amazing to see Marxian economic analysis, which has been thoroughly debunked in mainstream economics and discredited worldwide except for a few backwaters like North Korea and Cuba, find a home in the White House of the United States of America.

I refused to give to the United Way too.

I told my boss I was earning my keep and once they paid me it became my money.

I told her there were other causes which I felt were worth my charitable giving and it wasn’t anyone’s business who I gave to.

Don’t diss the all knowing all wise great provider.
Without big government we would still be living in caves eating roots and leaves.

The logical extension of the government-as-technology-provider was, of course, the Soviet Union.

I have no doubt that Obama is completely ignorant of what a hollow failure the Soviet Union was at government centrally-planned technological development notwithstanding the vast diversion of resources they poured into it.

It may be that Obama mourns the demise of the Soviet Union even more than Putin.

If this sort of idiocy doesn’t doom Obama’s re-election hopes in November I don’t know what would.

Well in this case it was somebody else’s pearl!

I know what you mean, the folks who slave over their hot keyboards to produce fancy HTML to show the world just how wonderful their bons mots are. Pretentious as hell.

I’ve heard several economists advance the idea lately that to make any economic transaction work you have to provide something that the other party wants or needs - in other words you can be a success only if you make someone else happy - that’s when he will be willing to part with his money or other valuables to compensate you for what you provide him - it’s ironic that Obama wants to credit government, which gets money from its citizens only through coersive measures such as the tax laws, with making people’s lives so much better when in fact most want less, not more, government......

I hate to be the one to break this to you people, but liberals really do think like this. They believe that 100% of the income you earn really does belong to the government, because without the government providing infrastructure, legal system, rights, etc., you would not have been able to make anything at all. But to show how good government really is, they actually let you keep some of what you make.

I have had this discussion countless times with liberals, and they really do think like this.

"And I know it's not always pretty to watch. We're seeing more money flooding into the system than ever before, more negative ads, more cynicism."

Unbelievable. A lot of these negative ads are his, and I'm stuck watching the darn things, at least for so many seconds, on multiple Youtube videos.
