The president was a no-show, Joe Biden exhorted the crowd to stick with Obama and Mitt Romney gave a frank address to the nations oldest civil-rights organization in which he vowed to repeal ObamaCare.
But the most important news out of the NAACP in Houston this week came from Attorney General Eric Holder, who vowed to continue the Justice Departments war on states trying to ensure the integrity of the electoral system.
The arc of...

Requirements to prove your identity before voting, he said, are poll taxes.

The Texas law which requires all voters to show some form of government-issued ID, including a US passport, a state drivers license or even a pistol permit is similar to an Indiana one that the Supreme Court upheld by a 6-3 vote in 2008. The court called such requirements eminently reasonable.
Three years earlier, a bipartisan Commission on Federal Election Reform co-chaired by former President Jimmy Carter and former Secretary of State James Baker recommended that all states should use their best efforts to obtain proof of citizenship before registering voters.

But there is.
In recent years, my office has secured more than 50 voter-fraud convictions, noted Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott in USA Today in March. Those include a woman who voted in place of her dead mother, a political operative who cast ballots for two people and a city councilmember who registered foreign nationals to vote in an election decided by 19 votes . . . Cases like these are just the tip of the iceberg.

How indeed? You cant fly, rent a car, get into a nightclub or buy a house without having to show ID. Is the government seriously arguing that lawful voting is less important? Especially when every vote counts?

I am so f*ing tired of this administration playing the race card I could spit. Somebody needs to put this clown in jail and throw away the key. If this Republic loses faith in the system of voting that is in place, like dead people voting in Lake County, IN, not only once, but twice, we are toast. For the head of the DOJ to make comments of policy like this tells me he not only has no class, he doesn't understand or care about the harm he's doing to this country. For the life of me, if you care about this country and the people therein, how could even consider another 4 years under Obozo?
This is a good thing though. They are setting a standard in which we are going to force them to view ALL Civil Rights.
They are already freaking out about the idea of a 4473 style form and NICS check requirement every time a person votes. That’s coming and we’re going to jam it down their throats since they jammed Obamacare down ours.
So, they can either start repealing some gun laws like the 1968 GCA or face the same infringements in that law put towards voting. They aren’t going to have it both ways. We’re going to make sure of that.
If you have to have a photo ID to register to vote......
Not too many years ago in my hometown, you lost your right to vote if you got welfare from the town. This law needs to be a national law. If you are on welfare in this country, you should not be allowed to vote.
Conversely, if you don't care about this country and the people therein and only for what you think is in it for you, it's easy to consider another 4 years under Oboz
We need to keep our focus on that racist Holder, indict him for murder and treason, find him guilty and make him walk up the 13 stairs to eternity.
Holder knows he has a boss who has to rig elections to win. Holder refused to prosecute the Black Panthers for intimdating voters. Just like ACORN was to be cut off all FED dollars-that never happened. These LIB/COMMIE/HIPPIE Wannabe SOCIASLISTs have no problem drivings vans across 4-5 states to haul fraudulent voters in my opinion as I saw NC plates on vans here in Nashville. Well, just north of NC is VA, W.VA,and just south are SC and GA. Why should anyone have a problem producing an ID? You cannot get on a plane, buy a drink, charge a darn thing if the cashier asks with an ID.
15 States currently require voter ID. Is the current DOJ going to attempt to toss out the votes of those 15 states ?

A sample of information available at that website:
California Non-photo SB1016 (effective January 1, 2006) requires voters to provide their driver's license number or state identification number. If they do not have either, they may use the last four digits of their social security card. If they also do not have a social security card number, the state will assign a unique number which may be used for voting purposes.
Florida Photo At the polls, valid picture identification with a signature is required. If photo identification does not contain a signature, voters will be asked for additional identification that does include a signature.
Virginia Non-photo For persons who registered to vote in Virginia by mail, federal law requires them to show identification when voting for the first time in a federal election if they did not send a copy of one of these IDs with their voter registration applications. Virginia law requires all other voters to provide identification at the polls, or sign an Affirmation of Identity under felony penalty, in order to vote at the polls.
Note: On May 20, 2012 Gov. Bob McDonnell signed legislation that requires someone without identification to vote provisionally. This would eliminate the Affirmation of Identity. According to reports, the U.S. Justice Department must determine whether Virginia's new law is constitutional.
