Obama, Republicans criticize Romney while candidate spends time with family
NY Post ^ | 7/14/12 | Associated Press

An unrelenting President Barack Obama jabbed at Mitt Romney's record with a private equity firm in an ad Saturday that aimed to keep his rival on the defensive just as the Republican challenger's campaign hoped to take advantage of poor economic data to gain an edge on the incumbent.

Obama met Romney's plea for an apology for the attacks with a mocking ad that charged that the firm shipped American jobs to China and Mexico, that Romney has personal wealth in investments in Switzerland, Bermuda and the Cayman Islands, and that as Massachusetts governor, he sent state jobs to India.

On the sidelines of the National Governors Association meeting in Williamsburg, Alabama's Republican governor, Robert Bentley, called on Romney to release all the documents requested of him.

While Obama hammered Romney for a second consecutive day in Virginia, Romney spent time with his family in New Hampshire. The candidate, taking a weekend off from public events, spent the morning at his lake house, working on his iPad on the lawn while his grandchildren played nearby. His last public event was Wednesday and he didn't plan other public campaign appearances until Tuesday.

Throwing tampons at Obama and calling him a liar and asking for apologies is not going to get Romney elected. What is Romney’s game plan?

I've been watching this farce for long enough to know the media still cares about their credibility. They 'call out' democrats from time to time but save the drip drip drip of damaging stories, the ones that actually sway public opinion over time, for the republicans.

If you think they will ever come around to reporting fairly you are bound to be disappointed.

That’s not what FDR said to get reelected.

All I know is that it’s bad politics to STILL be sitting on your ass up at the lake AFTER the July 4th holiday is over when Obama is out on the trail every day. It makes you look lazy & disengaged.

DITTO! Hope Romney and FR understand the arguments for free trade, deregulation, free market economy are not effective arguments since the implosion of 2008. Romney wants to win, study American First philosophy of Pat Buchanan. Otherwise Blue Collar Dems will vote for Obama and Obama may lose the popular vote, but take it thru the electoral college. Looked at the Rasmussen EC chart. Obama has 240 with leaning states and 100 undecided EC. He needs to win only 30 of the 100 toss ups while Romney needs about 90 of the toss ups to win. Romney has a big challenge EC wise. Between pandering to the Latino voters, and appealing to blue collar, Obama may win enough of the key states to win it via Electoral College despite losing the popular vote. All FR need to ignore the polls and concentrate on the EC map for the real picture.

that’s great...and you know what got obama elected in 2008???

1) Independent Voters...
2) Disgruntled GOP voters who stayed home or voted for obama because they wanted to do something historic by voting for obama...
3) white men who usually vote GOP in large numbers but voted for obama in greater numbers than usual for a rat presidential candidate...
4) the super rich...
5) the young vote...

guess what- he’s losing or has completely lost the first four groups and group number 5, the young vote, is fractionally behind him compared to where they were four years ago...

How does it make Obama look when he takes a day or two off, which he does all the time?

It doesn't matter what Willard does - he stays home, they report he's disengaged. He's out stumping they report he's doing damage control.

Its all about how the press chooses to characterize it. That is why Willard needs to stop trying to answer questions in good faith and take every opportunity to tell the story he wants to tell.

I really hope it is but I have no confidence in Romney's campaign advisors. We're on our way to a double-dip recession and a lot of companies have re-instituted hiring freezes for the remainder of the year because of ObamaCare as well as the double-dip. It's a lay-up for Romney, but it looks like he really doesn't have the fire inside that is needed to win against Obama's FDR 1936 campaign strategy.

Obama is the sitting president.....a day off still looks like he’s working to the public since he’s in the White House or at Camp David. Romney is really sitting on his ass at the lake after the July 4th holiday as we speak. It looks bad. And yes Romney needs to stop playing defense.

They’re trying to throw the election by campaiging with both hands tied behind his back.

The real “handlers” have decided that Øbama should be POTUS and Øbamacare should be law—not that Romney and Romneycare would be much different.

On the sidelines of the National Governors Association meeting in Williamsburg, Alabama's Republican governor, Robert Bentley, called on Romney to release all the documents requested of him.

If that is true, then the GOP is really the stupid party. Romney should ask Obama to release his records and documents.
