Authorities interviewed several passengers on the Spain-bound Delta flight, including an Argentinian woman and a Pakistani-American. Two suspicious wires found in one of the planes bathrooms could have linked a battery and an explosive.
Investigators have not ruled out the possibility someone was putting together an explosive device when wires were found about a Spain-bound Delta flight, forcing an emergency landing, a law enforcement official said Friday.
There is the possibility somebody was interrupted, the official said.
They also interviewed a Pakistani-born passenger who was believed to be the last person in the bathroom.
A U.S. citizen for 11 years, he denied any knowledge of the wires and was let go.

“Pakistani-born passenger who was believed to be the last person in the bathroom.”
No explosives found, no blasting caps. Sounds like wire terrorism!
Thinking themselves wise, the TSA become fools. That is the problem with reactive maintenance, when you worry about the symptom, (bombs), not the problem, (terrorists).
Might I suggest we stop searching grannys, and search everyone or no one. Israel searches with scanners, interviews with agents and racially and other ways profiles. Perhaps we should copy them, instead of rolling dice.
It sounds to me more like a spoof.
Wires? Only wires?
Solid or stranded? If solid, they might have something there. If stranded, someone’s earbuds or wired headset, likely failed and they tore ‘em up.
Just let the TSA test everybody's drinks that are bought beyond the security gate, and that will make us all safer.
The BATF used to bust people with fender washers and aluminum conduit, saying they had parts for a silencer.
If there were any 3-year-old girls or geriatric grannies on board, they clearly need to get equal treatment.
The terrorist have won. The new World Order has won. True Americans have lost because our liberty just went to hell.
“They also interviewed a Pakistani-born passenger who was believed to be the last person in the bathroom. A U.S. citizen for 11 years, he denied any knowledge of the wires...”
Well, of COURSE he denied!!! So they then let him go. Shame on them for profiling, anyway /sarc
Force eveyonen to eat a bacon sandwich before flight. No more problems...
Didn't the 9/11 Muzzies regularly hit strip clubs in Florida?
Suspicious wires? Were they wearing masks???
” Suspicious wires? Were they wearing masks???”
Have they even questioned the wires yet? Run some high voltage thru’em, they’ll tell ya everything.
Everybody’s suspiciously wired nowadays!
I’m not positive but most likely they’d get a negative response.
If they are going to question the Pakastani - they have to find 1 white haired granny to question too.
Totally Wired! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aT-ZD5Q8G2w
Someone cut the red wire?
