Governor Palin spoke today in Belleville, Michigan at Americans for Prosperity’s Patriot’s in the Park tea party event. The Detroit News reports , “Sarah Palin brings positive energy, message to tea party faithful”:
Former Republican vice presidential candidate and Alaskan Gov. Sarah Palin told an energized crowd of supporters Saturday to keep up hope going into the election season.Actually, reports on the ground state that more like 1,500 attended the event of fired-up patriots.
“I don’t want you to be bummed, I don’t want you to lose courage and I don’t want you to lose hope and faith that things can be turned around, though the challenges do seem daunting,” Palin told a cheering crowd of at least 400 strong gathered at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. “We must not lose our sense of optimism.”
Palin’s address rounded out a day of speeches from tea party and conservatives in politics, religion and the media, hosted by the Michigan branch of Americans for Prosperity and the Willow Run Tea Party Caucus.
Other speakers included Wisconsin Speaker of the House Jeff Fitzgerald, Michigan state Sen. Patrick Colbeck, R-Canton Township and Troy Mayor Janice Daniels.

But the enthusiasm of the crowds could not be compared to when Palin appeared shortly before 4 p.m. Dozens ran to the stage to get close enough to snap a picture. Supporters screamed “You go girl!” and “Palin for Energy Secretary.”
Palin started off by telling the crowd about how much she likes Michigan.
“Any state that loves hockey and hunting and snow and cars, I feel perfectly at home in,” she said.
Palin touched on a myriad of issues including the energy crisis, the budget deficit and healthcare. She said President Obama’s vision for the country is to fundamentally change America.
“Why would anybody want to fundamentally transform what is so good and free and strong about America?” she said.
I like Palin because she give old lady Bush indigestion. She flushes out the enemy.

I really believe that Michigan will go Red this year. The base of the Democrat vote, Detroit, is a ghost town. It’s depressed and depressing. But, the rest of the State is mad as hell and ready to vote for Romney, their home-State boy. I lived in MI for 10 years and I keep in touch with a lot of people there. It’s going for Romney.
Sis in Marshall says the same thing. Also lots of enthusiasm to get Spend=it=now out. The governor has shown an r can win. And follow though on his promises.
My primary reason for voting will be to get rid of Stupidcow. I believe Marshall is still in the 7th district and it doesn’t look like there is much of a fight to beat our conservative congressman (Walberg).
I was there with my daughter. We had a great time. Palin spoke well as usual. Got her to sign her book afterwards. A classy lady.
I can confirm there were well over a thousand people there in 90 degree weather.
My gnome who volunteered for days on site to make it happen claims closer to 3000 or 4000.

"Friends, I was asked to be a part of a very special event on Saturday........ Hosted by The Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund, The Willow Run Tea Party and Americans For Prosperity. The infamous Thayrone X from WAAM Talk 1600 was the Master of Ceremonies Extrodinaire.
The turn out was huge.....Thousands attended. Contrary to the main stream media's characterization of events hosted by The Tea Party...... EVERYONE of the thousands who attended were polite, courteous and respectful. At the end of the event, there was NOT one piece of debris or garbage on the ground. This was not Woodstock.
I presented on the issue of health care reform and Our government's assault on Our Health Care Freedom. The crowd was very supportive of the message delivered.
The featured presenter at the event was Sarah Palin. After my presentation, I had an opportunity to meet her backstage and have a brief conversation with her prior to her presentation. Much has been written and said about her. Here is my impression of her based on my conversation with her, listening to her presentation and watching her interact with hundreds of people after her presentation. I found her to be very comfortable in her own skin, humble, kind, smart and insightful. There is NO b.s. with her..... She is brutally honest. This is one of the reasons why I believe the Lame Stream Media and her opponents in both the Democrat and Republican parties dislike her.
In my conversation with her, she did something very few in politics, if any, would do. She spoke to me about what I said and thanked me for my honesty and approach. There is NOT an elitist bone in her body.
My last impression of her will be what sticks with me. After her presentation, she stayed to sign autographs and have pictures taken with her by the hundreds much to her security detail's concern. She stayed until every person who had waited to meet her was satisfied.
I have been "fortunate" to meet and interact with many politicians and celebrities over the years....... Sarah Palin is different.... very different. She is genuine there is nothing fake about her. This is a statement I can not say about Obama, Romney or anyone for that matter in D.C. or Hollywood.

I judge a person by the quality and quantity of his/her enemies.
If I had her resume on my desk for some other job that required a leadership skill required plus the ability to ferret out deceit, misappropriations and general nasty things being done I would hire her in a micro-second.
We just had 4 years of grievous damage upon America, Sarah Palin has the skills to clean it up and then to create laws to prevent it from happening again.
No other person I can think of has those skills.
But then, Most pictures of Sarah are my Favorite.
