When Ibn Jubayr, the secretary to the Muslim governor of conquered Spain visited the Great Pyramid of Giza in 1182, he described it as a "miraculous construction and wonderful to look upon." Historian John O'Neill (author of "Holy Warriors") said the Islamic dignitary was blissfully ignorant as to its builders, believing the ancient structures to be "the tombs of early prophets mentioned in the Koran." Jubayr lamented, "To be short, none but the Great and Glorious God can know their story."
You see, by Jubayr's time, all Greco-Roman historical sources were swept from the Muslim-dominated world ... they felt no need to keep the writings of pagan infidels like the Greek traveler and historian Herodotus, or Josephus (a Jew) who claimed the giant structures were built by Hebrew slaves to hold the "wisdom which is concerned with the heavenly bodies and their order."
That preservation fell to cloistered Medieval European Christian monks.
Of course, the Great Pyramid looked different after the Muslim conquest of Egypt in AD 640. Prior to the invasion, the structure still possessed its white exterior marble casings that, according to legend, reflected the sun's rays, offering ancient Mediterranean sailors a bright navigational reference point. With Egypt's conquest, Islam stripped the marble from the structure and used it to construct many of Cairo's towering Mosques.
Now, according to various news accounts, the Egyptian Salafi Party wants to cover the Great Pyramid's cyclopsian exterior stones in wax - all 40,745 of them.
And the Assyrian International News Agency says Bahrain's President of National Unity, Abd al-Latif al-Mahmoud, want's Egypt's new Muslim Brotherhood president, Muhammad Morsi, to "destroy the Pyramids and accomplish what the Sahabi Amr bin al-As could not."
Oh, yes, Sahabi Amr bin al-As.
He was the Muslim general who destroyed what was left of the Great Library of Alexandria, which proudly held the books of ancient knowledge - like those written by Herodotus and Josephus.
"It's easier to destroy than it is to create," goes the old saying. However, a conquering Islam didn't have the manpower or knowhow necessary to dismantle Khufu's monument to resurrection, and the general ended up making a monumental al-As out of himself.
Even with today's engineering technology, it would take years and the resources of a Bechtel or Halliburton Corporation to dismantle the desert wonder of a long dead pharaoh. With that not likely to happen, it falls to Egypt's faithful to haul away the Great Pyramid's 2,300,000 stone blocks - weighing an average 2.5 tons each.
If history is any judge, Islam is nothing if not persistent in the ways of destruction.
"Man fears time," goes an old Arab proverb, "But time fears the pyramids."

Well, they are encumbersome to blow up.
My experience in Saudi Arabia taught me that it is improbable Arabs probably wouldn’t be a very reliable source for the labor gangs that would be needed to do the job. I predict an effort to recruit TCNs (third country nationals) for the job ...
Arabs. Not Egyptians. True Egyptians, predominantly Christian, whould not even consider this.
You could just shell the heck out of them and eventually they would crumble.
I hope they remain intact. But...
If they’re bent on taking them apart, there’s a chance new chambers will be revealed. One can only imagine what they might hold! (Or not.) Possibly, if they are dismantled piece by piece, we can get a better insight into how they were built.
...Of course, as the article says, as hard as they were to build, it won’t be at all easy to take down structures of solid rock where each piece averages 2.5 tons!
Shelling and explosives will damage it but won’t really destroy it. They’re already defaced, so I can hardly see the religious need to reduce them further. But if they want them razed... Years. Each.
Manpower they have in abundance. But do they have the money to employ folks that long on simply taking those things apart???
I wonder how many archeologists came upon the election of the One. I wonder if they’re also “inspired” by the Egyptian “revolution”.
They should blow up the pyramids one suicide vest bomber at a time.
Just strap on a vest have them run towards the pyramid screaming “allah akbar” and blow themselves up...
Limit each vest to a couple ounces of explosives and eventually the problem will take care of itself...
These people are destructive termites, rats.
They can’t allow their people to become knowledgable, cultured. The whole idea of Islam is to subjugate, to control the masses as a war machine. The incredible thing is the blind eye todays western world through the MSM turns to it.
People talk about how far we’ve come. At least a hundred years ago we weren’t stupid enough not to know an enemy.
“Show me what Mohammad brought that was new and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.”
Manuell II Palelogus
Those who are too incompetent to create often buy the skills of those who can... Those too incompetent to create - and to poor to buy - become destroyers.
Jealousy of cultural losers...
"In the seventh century of the Christian era, a wandering Arab of the lineage of Hagar [i.e., Muhammad], the Egyptian, [.....] Adopting from the new Revelation of Jesus, the faith and hope of immortal life, and of future retribution, he humbled it to the dust by adapting all the rewards and sanctions of his religion to the gratification of the sexual passion.
He poisoned the sources of human felicity at the fountain, by degrading the condition of the female sex, and the allowance of polygamy; and he declared undistinguishing and exterminating war, as a part of his religion, against all the rest of mankind.
THE ESSENCE OF HIS DOCTRINE WAS VIOLENCE AND LUST.- TO EXALT THE BRUTAL OVER THE SPIRITUAL PART OF HUMAN NATURE....
Between these two religions, thus contrasted in their characters, a war of twelve hundred years has already raged. The war is yet flagrant ... While the merciless and dissolute dogmas of the false prophet shall furnish motives to human action, there can never be peace upon earth, and good will towards men." John Quincy Adams
How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live.
A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyzes the social development of those who follow it.
NO STRONGER RETROGRADE FORCE EXISTS IN THE WORLD.
Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step;
AND WERE IT NOT THAT CHRISTIANITY IS SHELTERED IN THE STRONG ARMS OF SCIENCE, THE SCIENCE AGAINST WHICH IT HAD VAINLY STRUGGLED, THE CIVILIZATION OF MODERN EUROPE MIGHT FALL, AS FELL THE CIVILIZATION OF ANCIENT ROME.(Emphasis added) Winston Churchill
Too bad more Americans don't take the time (including many Freepers here) to study Islam/Sharia and how dangerous it is to our survival.
If they were serious about destroying them they’d move ‘em to Detroit.
