Durbin says Romney running from Bain 'like a scalded cat'
MSNBC ^ | July 15, 2012 | By Tom Curry

Democrats pressed their attack Sunday on Mitt Romney’s record as head of the investment firm Bain Capital in the 1990’s.

Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., the Senate majority whip, asked on NBC’s Meet the Press, “Why is Mitt Romney running away from his company, Bain Capital, like a scalded cat? Because there’s abundant evidence that under Bain Capital they were exporting American jobs to low-wage countries and he doesn’t want to be associated with it.”

Defending Romney’s record at Bain Capital, Romney campaign advisor Ed Gillespie told NBC’s David Gregory that outsourcing – U.S. companies setting up foreign operations to replace operations in the United States – was due partly to President Barack Obama’s policies of imposing “excessive regulations” and maintaining a high corporate tax rate.

One of Romney's strongest assets -- his track record of success at Bain.

And Romney has allowed it to be be turned into a detriment.

Amazing. The man wants to lose.

Romney had better go on offense or he will become another McCain. If he spends all his time fending off the Rat attacks, he will never get off his heels. The GOP has yet to learn to fight the Democrats like they fight Conservatives.

Durbin is such a dunce ~ but Romney is scared ~ and his time at Bain, which should have been a crowning achievement for anyone, does seem to be a source of something he probably wishes he'd never gotten involved in.

Durbin doesn't understand that part.

Sure, Bain probably exported a job here or there, but they also imported some jobs. They're a major operator ~ and even if all they did was screw around with Canada or Mexico there'd been some job swaps.

Over on the Right To Life side, everybody has a problem with Romney's involvement in the cheap abortion business in Massachusetts with taxpayers forced to subsidize abortion. But the RTL side has noticed that Bain, after Romney left direct management, got involved with Stericycle ~ at that time one of the leading medical waste disposal companies ~ and turned it into THE LEADING medical waste disposal company AND America's premiere broker in dead babies! (gotta' be some polite way to say it but I"m busy here).

Romney said, in regard to that period when he was away from direct management that he retained an ownership interest, and more suspiciously, he said he could have stepped in at any time and made decisions ~ but he didn't.

So I"ve been wondering about what decisions he wishes he'd made ~ certainly not that petty stuff about exporting jobs ~ that is really chump change ~ Democrats export more jobs every minute than Bain did in 20 years I am sure ~ but what kind of decision does Romney REGRET NOT MAKING?

I'm guessing it has something to do with Stericycle. Talk about something ruining your options for running for President, being Stericycle's financial enabler ~ responsible for providing them the big bucks to expand ~ particularly into the new and exciting field of fetal brokerage ~ that'd sure be it.

With over 50% of the country now opposed to abortion on demand, this sort of activity looks less and less modern and progressive to more and more voters.

I have no doubt he wishes he'd had the common sense to tell the board 'drop those guys' ~ but maybe the money was too good.

Whatever, he's running a campaign without the social Conservatives available to do some ground pounding work for him.

Too bad. He could have been President but he clearly didn't want to. He had other things on his mind.

When he should have been giving it up to Jesus he gave it up to Obama!

Sorry Dick! Romney isn’t running from Bain. He’s chasing your boy, Barry, like “a scalded cat” trying to pin him down and get him to tell the American people who he really is.

He’s chasing your boy,

He was a couple of weeks ago. Seems like since ObamaCare was declared constitutional Romney has lost his page.

It’s a big to-do over nothing, according to at least two fact checking organizations. Mitt owned Bain past 1999, but he never involved himself in its business decisions after that point even though he had the right to do so. At least at one point he would have been way too busy anyhow, with the Winter Olympics. The Democrats are making fools of themselves.

and turned it into THE LEADING medical waste disposal company AND America's premiere broker in dead babies!

Bain had nothing to do with the babies being killed by their mothers and the abortion business.

I suppose your solution was to just let them be thrown into a dumpster (which has happened on numerous occasions) or systematically dumped into a mass grave at the discretion of the clinic?

Who is to say the latter has also not happened?

Would you be the one to step up and take the remnants of all jumbled fetuses together and determine what belonged to what so they could be interred in a more humane way?

Reality is a b!t@h. Assailing the symptoms of a societal sickness will do nothing to eradicate the cause. Until we change the culture and attitudes of our society, you will be inundated with more and more symptoms while the cause goes on unabated.

Granted, I like most others here know that Romney is not the answer, but it is what it is or are you really just another plant pecking at the edges until we get Obama back for another 4 years. If Romney is elected, we can bounce him just as easily after 4 years as it appears Obama has a good chance of being. Maybe four years of half measures will enlighten a society to seek more than that and we know the Democrats do not have the answers.

Of course Barack Obama will never accuse Mitt of being too active in the abortion biz.

To all records, Mitt exercised a hands off policy towards Bain’s business decisions after 1999. With Stericycle being brought on board, he may have figured he did not need the radioactivity. But it has to have kicked some dough his way. Thankfully, abortion itself has been on a downward trend, though slowly, over the last decade or so. Maybe that’s why Stericycle was suffering and needed Bain?

We know you did drugs and drink alot in your college days.

2) Show us your school records
3) Why do you surround yourself with radical feminists. The ones who hate fathers, men, and boys ?
There are so much hate speech from them out there that support there hatred and goals for us. Those that hate GOD,and Marriages, and love abortions, and hate military,etc...
Expose this, and you will get alot of minorities males and there families to turn away from the party of slavery in a heart beat...
just a few ammo to attack back

Think about it a moment ~ ever see a leftwingtard nitpick over the effluvia flowing from the abortion racket?

Remember the killer doc up in Philadelphia who was chopping them up here and there and killing the women too.

The Pennsylvania Republican establishment ~ the Bushbot GOP-e up there, took a pass on that guy when they could have stuffed him in prison long ago.

Obviously the abortionists need to get rid of the products of their trade ~ but why is it required for a Republican Presidential Candidate to have participated in taking care of that need.

Then, too, what were they doing with the dead babies ~ were they being recycled into human tissue for use in the cosmetics industry?

When it comes to murder and cannibalism there are just so many questions we can ask ~ and Mitt has so many answers he needs to address.

This is becoming an obscenity.

The Washington Post's fact checker and "Pulizer Prize-winning FactCheck.org" support Romney's version of events and yet those prior definitively credible sources, used to attack Republicans in the primary cycle, are now sidelined in favor of talking points from the Obama campaign and his allies.
