President Barack Obama notified Congress on Friday that he was suspending for six months a measure that would let any American whose property was seized in the Cuban Revolution of 1959 sue anyone of any nationality using the property today.

"I hereby determine and report to the Congress that suspension, for 6 months beyond August 1, 2012, of the right to bring an action under title III of the Act is necessary to the national interests of the United States and will expedite a transition to democracy in Cuba," Obama said in a letter to top lawmakers.

Castro confiscated private property after the revolution. The Cuban government mismanaged these properties and lost money on all of them. Recently they have tried to sell the confiscated properties to foreign investors.

The law has never been enforced. The refusal to stand up to the Cuban government by Clinton, George W. Bush and Obama have not brought any benefits.

Hugo Chavez is also confiscating private property in Venezuala. The Obama Administration is beginning to confiscate private property in the United States.

If Obama had the power he would act even worse than Castro and Chavez. I think Stalin or Mao would be closer to an Obama idol.

BO doesn’t do anything without quid pro quo. One of his contributors or bundlers wants to by some stolen Cuban property and wants any potential lawsuits by the right owners scuttled.

I’d bet you’re right. Be interesting to see who takes advantage of this little window of opportunity and what his/her/their links to hussein are...

Instead of his Amnesty for illegals mantra Marco Rubio should be jumping all over this.

This is worded like a wink to Castro & Co. to become some kind of figurehead democratic republic. They wouldn’t DARE have actual elections.

“I think Stalin or Mao would be closer to an Obama idol.”

At this point in history, considering what country Obama is President of, I think Stalin and Mao would see Obama as the idol.

Somebody benefits, follow the money. BO is trading government favors for $$. He’s a kleptocrat; always has been, always will be.

Just seems to me that as it exists, it looks like a useless incentive. Someone’s still going to be left holding the bag.
