Obama Signs Executive Order for More Control of Communications in Times of Emergency

The president signed an executive order on June 6th that was published in the Federal Registry this week which grants the Department of Homeland Security extended emergency powers to control communications. The Washington Times reports:

An executive order signed June 6 “gives DHS the authority to seize control of telecommunications facilities, including telephone, cellular and wireless networks, in order to prioritize government communications over private ones in an emergency,” said Amie Stephanovich, a lawyer with the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC).

The White House says Executive Order 13618, published Wednesday in the Federal Register, is designed to ensure that the government can communicate during major disasters and other emergencies and contains no new authority.

Not to stir the 2012 POTUS conundrum, but this is a big problem with Obama.

You know, maybe it’s just me, but i’m getting damned tired of the avalanche of precautionary doomsday planning coming from our government.

It’s like if your wife is creating a savings account away from the family finances, and visiting divorce lawyers, and moving her prized possessions into a storage unit. But she says she loves you, and is just being prudent in case anything goes wrong.

These SOBs are sure making a lot of contingency plans, structuring a body of law, and buying a lot of stuff that only becomes useful during martial law.

Obama Signs Executive Order for More Control of Communications in Times of Emergency

Is it even possible for him to have more control of communications?

America is going down without much of a fight. He signs his dictatorial orders and the people get in line. While the republicans fill their coffers and prepare to outsource their sorry asses to some tropical island.

Just you wait - obozo is getting ready for action in late October; I am guessing it will be something to do with his civilian “million-man army” coupled with a staged event which the MSM can coo over brave millato-man ...

I am not a conspiracy theorist, but these three latest EOs and previous EOs Obama signed, coupled with Perdue’s and Orszag’s comments, suggest that something besides coincidence is going on.

Presidents have long been incrementally increasing their powers, in the direction of an “imperial presidency”, ever since the very beginning. Since Teddy Roosevelt, this has accelerated.

The most recent trend in this was started by Eisenhower, who began the tradition of “Emergency Paranoid Presidential Powers”, which every single president since has rewritten and enlarged, to the point where a *declared* emergency, not necessarily a *real* emergency, would be all that is required for a president to seize and keep dictatorial powers.

It has reached a point however, where it no longer matters what the president’s intent is in doing this. This is because there is no check or balance to this usurpation.

It cannot be anything but anti-American and evil, undemocratic and not-Republican. It cannot just have its further growth limited, but the office of the Presidency must be made to surrender the powers it has usurped.

Perhaps the most dangerous usurpation is the Presidential Signing Statements in frequent use. These are abused by the presidents to take both legislative and judicial powers to themselves.

The second most dangerous usurpation is the appointment of powerful government leaders, “Czars”, outside of the review and approval of the US senate. Such appointments must be stripped of money, and at no time may they ever command the use of government power.

The third most dangerous usurpations are the multiple tools the president uses to carry out unilateral actions: presidential proclamations, used to steal state lands for federal purposes; executive orders and memos that cannot be challenged in federal court, and steal legislative powers and appropriations.

A new usurpation is the signing of foreign treaties without the approval of the US senate, by declaring that they are not treaties, but “agreements”, still binding on the United States. Likewise, presidents have been signing binding international declarations, committing the United States to actions even before the US senate holds hearings on them.

Many of the changes that we need to preserve our republic from a tyrannical president can only be initiated by the president himself, with the cooperation of congress. And what president can contain his ego enough to demand *fewer* powers?

Tragically, most of them are so narcissistic and self important that they cannot see that they are destroying our nation by trying to do just another “good thing”.

America is going down without much of a fight. He signs his dictatorial orders and the people get in line.  Seems that way doesn't it.

While the republicans fill their coffers and prepare to outsource their sorry asses to some tropical island.  I will admit that it seems that way too, on the surface.

Let me run this by you.

As I became an adult, I adopted certain premises.  As I have gotten older, I have had to rethink some of them.

One primary premise that I adopted early on in life, seems to have developed a crack the size of a chasm in it.

"People will always vote or make decisions based on self-interest."

That seemed rather bed-rock to me growing up.  Then I realized that Blacks continue to vote for Democrats despite the fact that Democrats have been some of the worst racists this nation has seen.  They defended slavery.  They fought a war in part, over this issue.  After the Civil War, they drove the major bigotry in the South.  The KKK was manned by Southern Democrats.  The Democrats to this day do not do things that help Blacks.  They support abortion, that has seen a disproportionately large segment of Blacks eliminated.  In fact they do things that have been proven to destroy the Black family.  And they support things that figuratively keep Blacks poor, subservient, and down on the plantation.  Welfare, abortion, the creation of the nanny state, and the incentive to eliminate men from the core Black family unit, are evidence of this.

So what do we see in the business environment?  We seem to see men doing their best to destroy our Capitalist based system.  We attribute this to greed.  I think there's something to be said for that premise.  Then you think about it, and the collapse of our Capitalist economic system can't play out well for them.  They may be able to escape the negative aspects in our nation, but they have family, friends, and associates who couldn't possibly pick up and relocate successfully outside the nation.  These guys are playing the part of fools.  It's very iffy that they can actually pull it off.  Perhaps 0.0000001% of them can.  That leaves hundreds of millions of U. S. Citizens who can't.  And among those who can't, are people they must answer to, if not in person, in their own minds.  Are they acting in their own self interests?  I don't believe so.  At best they will destroy most of the people they know, to achieve what they think is utopia for them.  And then, after that, I think they're headed towards a massive fail themselves.

Not to leave us out, lets look at what we've been up to.  For decades you and I have voted for people who have been doing our nation harm.  We patted ourselves on the back for voting for the lesser of two evils.  And with regard to that, we thought we did the best we could.  In truth, did we do the nation a favor?  We have been voting for rotten people.  The lesser of two evils can still be very rotten.  Have we acted in our best interests?  I don't think so.

The Democrats were openly anti-American by the late 1960s.  The Republican politicians still claims to act in the best interests of the United States, but it's crystal clear they have been selling our nation out too.  And yet..., and yet most Republicans are willing to back even a slime-ball like Romney.

The heart and soul of the nation, now ticks in the body of the Tea Party.  Both major parties have sold us out, but who makes up the Tea Party?  I submit the Tea Party is made up of Conservative Republicans and what would today be a Reagan Democrat, who have both had their fill of traitorous greedy tone-deaf politicians.

Most people are not aware that a massive gathering of Tea Party members took place in our nation's capital on July 4th this year.  The media didn't report on it.  Imagine that.  Perhaps the failure of 'Self Interest' will be proven to only have been in effect for a short period of time in our nation's history.  Otherwise, our nation will fall.

People really do need to wake up.  If they don't now, it won't matter by the time they do.

I submit there are over 100 million Tea Party people at heart in this nation, that are clearing their throat to deliver an important message.   Sellouts, the writing is on the wall.  Your days are numbered.

There may be a hundred million Tea Party types. And most will tell you a vote for a third party is a vote for obama. Because that’s what they’re told. If we had started a third party when GHW Bush was nominated that party would be in the majority today and the country would be better off.

So, the question is, is it too late?

By the way, the last time I voted for the lessor of two evils was when I voted for mccain. And like I said, that’s the LAST time.

1. We can vote for the McCains and Romneys, and our nation will continue to go down hill. The Republican party will never be motivated to move back to the right.

2. We can withhold our votes, hope that the party sees it’s demise just ahead and repents.

3. We can work to replace the Republican party.

Some combination of two and three make sense to me. One hasn’t gotten us anywhere. I doubt it ever will.

I have a gut feeling that Republican registration is down all over. I may be wrong. The Independent party has grown over the last 30 years. I believe most of the independents came from the Republican Party, but again, I may be wrong.

I know I am hard pressed to continue on with my registration with the Republican party. Frankly, I’d like to see 80% of the Republicans who are fed up with what is taking place, register as independents and send a message.
