Mitt Romney currently has no plans to give Sarah Palin a role at the 2012 Republican National Convention. In fact, John McCain's 2008 running mate hasn't even been invited to the GOP soiree in Tampa, reports Newsweek's Peter J. Boyer.
"Palin would certainly light up the base at the convention … but a jolt of Palin at Romney's convention seems most unlikely," Boyer writes. "The Romney campaign prides itself on a slavish adherence to script, and Palin cannot be trusted to avoid the impulse to go rogue."

I think it’s a big mistake not to invite her and give her a speaking role. Because she’ll be there — maybe not at the convention site, but close by — and she will give a speech. And she’s far more likely to “go rogue” if she’s left on her own.
I have two questions - one, does Romney run the convention; and two, why do we allow the media to lead us around by the nose?
IF Romney could get Palin on his side, it would increase his chances exponentially.
When he tries to speak at the convention, the audience should unrelentlessly drown him out by chanting, “Palin, Palin, Palin...”.
If Sarah can’t speak for the conservatives, then Romney shouldn’t be allowed to speak either!

Didn't have to read it. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that Romney (and many of his supporters) want nothing more than to win the White House and be able to look at the Tea Party and say "See? We did it and we did NOT need you!"

I don’t have a reference handy, but I could swear I saw something a month or two ago that said she’s going to be in Tampa for the convention, regardless of whether or not she’ll be attending the convention itself.
I haven’t seen any mention of that, Kev, but if you find it, please post since it will be interesting to see what her plans were and how they ultimately turn out.

Yes, Romney runs the convention, until he doesn’t. ( But, apparently with conservatives dropping like flies accepting the socialist on our ticket, convention upset and resistance will not be able to happen.) It will be a coronation, not a convention.
2.)
We are LEAD because we will follow, with NO resistance whatsoever, so far anyway. The convention is our last chance for a voice from the delegates of grassroots, the Tea Party and the activists. No sign yet of a will among any of them for a struggle against Romney the socialist.

I was at the Kennedy Library last week and they showed footage of Nixon being all nicey nicey at the debates. He lost that year. When he was an unrelenting attack dog in 68 and 72, he won.

I’m really getting tired of my vote and my values being taken for granted. When Romney gives his acceptance speech I’m checking other channels for wrestling or reruns of Gilligan’s Island.

This is standard divide and concur MSM DNC tactics. They will try to exploit the distances between Romney and the Conservative base of the party to make them forget about their hatred for Obama’s policies.
None of their tactics will work, Obama has the problem with his base. They are the ones who are unmotivated. All true Conservatives are chomping at the bit to throw Obama, Holder and their merry band of Leftist criminals OUT ON THEIR ASSES in November!

I saw it as more of a go ahead, I dare you. After what they continue to do to her as the Romney bunch is the same cast of fools who started on her while she was the VP nominee. Grizzleys have a long memory. A very long one.
The facts will play out at the convention. The convention will start with a bang and build to a crescendo of a Romney speech that closes the convention. It is THAT speech that Romney has to shine. All the rest is noise.
For now, he has to counter attack and build his war chest. He has to win in the swing states and that takes $.
