When I first saw a book with the title, "White Girl Bleed A Lot" by Colin Flaherty, I instantly knew what it was about, even though I had not seen the book reviewed anywhere, and knew nothing about the author.
That is because I had encountered that phrase before, while doing research for the four new chapters on intellectuals and race that I added to the revised edition of my own book, "Intellectuals and Society," published this year.
That phrase was spoken by a member of a mob of young blacks who attacked whites at random at a Fourth of July celebration in Milwaukee last year. What I was appalled to learn, in the course of my research, was that such race riots have occurred in other cities across the United States in recent years — and that the national mainstream media usually ignore these riots.
Where the violence is too widespread and too widely known locally to be ignored, both the local media and public officials often describe what happened as unspecified "young people" attacking unspecified victims for unspecified reasons. But videos of the attacks often reveal both the racial nature of these attacks and the racial hostility expressed by the attackers.
Are race riots not news?
Ignoring racial violence only guarantees that it will get worse. The Chicago Tribune has publicly rationalized its filtering out of any racial identification of attackers and their victims, even though the media do not hesitate to mention race when decrying statistical disparities in arrest or imprisonment rates.
Such mob attacks have become so frequent in Chicago that officials promoting conventions there have recently complained to the mayor that the city is going to lose business if such widespread violence is not brought under control.

I get the sense there’s some confusion about our diverging opinions on the implications of sensational (cough) headlines save the essence of the subject matter which is not in question.

All i can say is that it was Sowell-esque.
According to U.S. News and World Report, the most dangerous city in the United States is St. Louis.

Note "East St. Louis" is actually in Illinois.
And has been a noted hellhole for at least 40 years.

The name George Zimmerman certainly suggests ‘whiter than white bread’ and you can bet that if anyone would have really checked it out, it would never have taken on the impact it did.
It was such a bad move they had to emphasize the youthful looking Martin and trying to lighten up the pictures of Zimmerman - remember it wasn’t until the court proceedings that the ‘world’ got a look at GZ, certainly not the ‘white guy’ they thought they had run down the road to ruination.

My wife’s liberal uncle swears that I am way out there on this matter. He says that there is no evidence of frequent black on white violence. Every news piece I send him gets the response that this is an anomaly. He doesn’t see it on his news (yeah you can guess where he gets his news) and thus claims I am finding things that just aren’t there. He lives in The Villages, near Ocala, FL. Pretty unlikely he will ever see race violence up close there, so duh, it ain’t happening...right?
Screw him. I’m not wasting breath anymore telling libs to open their eyes before they become victims. They are beyond deluded. I’ve no sympathy for any lib that falls victim to one of these “get whitey” crimes. I am so sick of the unofficial race war that no one will report that I’m beginning to wonder if the only way this will change is when a *lot* of libs get the crap beat out of them in very public venues. If so, then let it happen sooner rather than later.

Exactly. I know that they believe they understood what they think we said, but I’m not sure they realize that what they understood is not what we meant. :-)

It’s happening everywhere. I know someone who said their family was considering a move because vandals were becoming a problem.

White liberals bear much of the responsibility for calling this tune, thinking all the while that *somehow* their political ideology is more easily spotted than their pale hides. They wanted this, so let them pay the piper.
The media establishment is deliberately not reporting on the black on white crimes for a very specific reason.
I’ve been contending for years that Obama will not allow the elections to happen in November. It will take a race riot and cities being on fire for it to happen, but it is coming very soon.
The media won’t cover black-on-white crime, because it’s so prolific. However, once whites starting fighting back, the news media will be in a frenzy to cover it wherever it happens. At that point, the administration will consider the societal race breakdown an immediate and impending danger and declare martial law in those cities. Once those cities are militarized, there will be a call for calm and the military will slowly and methodically begin disarming the populace.
It’s going to happen and once it starts, there will be no stopping it. Like politics and laws, once they’re in motion, they’re impossible to stop and highly unlikely to be turned back.
