She was a mature recording star when I was still in high school, about the same time as Kay Starr, and I think here was a Goldie Hill, the “Golden Hillbilly”, who probably preceded even Kittie by a few years.

She recorded “One by One” with Red Foley when I was in my teens & I’m 74 now. She really sang from the heart too.
I had been thinking of her recently. It hasn’t been that long since her husband died, they were together personally and professionally for almost forever. One of their daughters died a few years ago. i was imagining how lonely her life now had to be.
This evening Miss Kitty regrets as she finds out that it was after all God who made honky tonk angels!
She’s now with her friends in low places.
