After one of the men yelled, telling the patrons not to move, the video shows patron Samuel Williams approach the armed suspect and start shooting.

Investigators said Smith struck DuWayne Henderson, 19, of Ocala three times, twice in the buttocks and once in the arm. Davis Dawkins, 19, was struck in the upper chest.

The men then fled the building, leaving a trail of blood behind.

This one ended well, but Williams was lucky.

He fired at one of the perpetrators while an innocent bystander was standing right behind or near the perp. It was at close range, so there was slightly less risk. But, he put the other patron in additional danger.

Williams also continued to shoot at the perps as they ran, even after they got out the first door onto the street (or sidewalk?). Had one of those shots been fatal, an overzealous prosecutor could have argued that it was unnecessary.

It seems to me that Mr. Williams needs a larger caliber gun and some range time.

Video slots. I tried to clear this up in another thread. They’re not good things. They attract the same crime that a casino would, but unlike a legitimate casino in states that the allow them, they don’t have to provide near the same level of security.

Prefer to think of Williams as prepared.

He brought a gun to a gunfight,

He moved deliberately from a good covered position, staying in the fight until the threat was no longer a threat (can’t see from the last view in the video if zippy the hoodie was maybe trying to get back to a dropped gun).

The video shows four shots....
Four shots, four slugs in meat.

Looks like Mr. Williams was not only prepared, but the better MAN.

Hope he can weather the coming legal storm. Every round fired has a lawyer attached to it....fortunately that doesn’t obstruct one’s front sight!

God’s speed Mr. Williams.

Mr. Williams did great. This isn't the movies where someone suffers a single gunshot wound and drops dead in 2 seconds. As to caliber, most people don't carry .44 magnums. And shooting people who are running, falling, and flopping around on the ground isn't as easy as shooting paper targets.

Good shoot, though I hope the perp Williams popped through the door is the one who had the handgun. If there is an affirmative action prosecutor like the one persecuting George Zimmerman in Gainseville, Williams' actions will be scrutinized.

My exact sentiments. I have a conceal carry permit and I have been thinking about going to a small lightweight 380 instead of a 9mm. This video has made me question my original plans. I think I am going to go up to a 45 instead.

Dude, it was the two crazy black robbers who put the patrons in danger. I’m guessing you would have kept everyone safe by not poking out your head?

Get a Glock 20 or 21 and upgrade it to .50 GI.

Wow, after reading the article it states the guy that was carrying the bat has bonded out of jail! How can that be? How can a guy who was participating in an armed robbery be bonded out of jail?

Caliber:
It’s a little scary seeing so little effect. On the one hand, his gun was too small, on the other, he was carrying it.

Taking action:
I’m afraid that I would probably wait until some innocent person was hurt before taking action. The legal risk is just too great. Shoot before they shoot, and you are shooting skittles eating child. Wait for them to kill an innocent, and you are killing a killer. Sucks.

Well, once they were running away there was no need to keep shooting and he MAY get into trouble with a jury about that- but not if I was sitting on it

It was two crazy black robbers? What race is the old guy who shot them? Is this going to be Trayvon all over again? It is FL, right?
