Evidently, in Bogalusa, Louisana, an American Soldier was refused service by the MUSLIM owners/proprietors of a Texaco gas station.

TOPICS: Constitution/Conservatism; Crime/Corruption; Culture/Society; News/Current Events
KEYWORDS: louisiana; military; muslim
Anyone seen or heard about this?

If true and in Texas.......the station owner and the primary source of fuel (IE Union76, or Texaco, or whatever) need to be sued and hundreds of people should protest his station until people stop going.

It is a HATE CRIME that should lead to indictments
by the DOJ. But THEY are too busy, defending Korans
and terrorists and their own past misdeeds against
whistlebloweres and against the American people,
to care.

There are hundreds of references on google search using title.
Apparently there was a protest and a sort of apology, then the owners had a neighborhood party.

The muslim owner needs to have his ass kicked at least as hard as a gas station owner who refused service to a muslim customer would.

There was a local small shop (like a small 7-11 store) that was taken over by muzzie owners.

I used to shop there all the time, but whenever I walked in this guy and his friends would stop talking and give me that 'hate stare' (african americans will know what that means) The previous owner used to greet you at the door and say "Hi Mike how's the kids?" - he was so nice

I stopped shopping there and I noticed the parking lot is almost always empty now

I think business owners should be able to refuse service to whomever they wish. Of course, the person who is refused has the right to inform the public, and the public can then react by not purchasing goods and services from that business owner.

Here’s the vid. It’s great to see, though, how fast they got folks on their feet to protest.

Has anyone seen or heard of a 7-11 in Iran or Saudi Arabia?

This is an old story. It stayed in my mind because I know Bogalusa - a smelly mill town with lovely people.

Things get distorted. To start with:

1) The gas station is owned/operated by East Indian Hindus, not Muslims.
2) The rumor was begun by a woman who claimed she overheard a National Guardsman denied service.
3) The owner claimed he did not and does not deny service, except to those not permitted restricted items like cigarettes. He does not remember any such incident, except perhaps it was to inform the Guardsman that he did not have a particular brand of some product.
4) After considerable efforts and inquiry, nobody has been able to locate the Guardsman in question.

However, the effect on the gas station has been painful, in that it has had to change its name, been confronted by protestors, received threats and intimidation, etc.

So, until such time as some soldier steps forward, let’s not continue this urban legend.

This tells me it's likely bogus, unless "Michelle" is a convert to Muslim.

Michelle Rayner was surprised to discover protesters and Washington Parish Sheriff's Office deputies keeping a watchful eye on the gas station, where she works six days a week.

“Snopes says it is “Probably false”.....FWIW”

Worth less than zero.

Snopes puts out more than 300 articles a DAY in support of their messiah.

Nothing they excrete has any value at all.

Snopes Sucks. And for Hussein, it’s part of their job description. Bet the Mikkelsons get SOMETHING in return.

Well this “incident” supposedly took place in June 2012....I usually check snopes or another site, and didn’t in this case...I do NOT use GOOGLE....friends don’t let friends use GOOGLE if at all possible! So, it looks like it may NOT be true....although a part of me thinks it makes up for the 9/11 charges that everyone ignores of the NYC school children telling their friends they wouldn’t be at school the next day....

Yes, the indignation over this urban legend is amusing considering how many think it would be perfectly appropriate for a business owner to refuse service to any number of groups that are not popular on this forum.

This was tried with a gas station in my town here in Oregon. It was always hearsay. Never did an actual member of the military (Air National Guard here is big here) come forward to claim a dis-service. It was always friend-of-a-friend heard it from someone at work...

Possibly rumor started by a competitor?

My understanding (i.e. word on the street here in Louisiana) is that:

1. The store owner is a Hindu, not a moslem.

2. The National Guardsmen went into the store to buy a pack of cigarettes. He asked for his brand and was told they were currently out.

3. An onlooker misconstrued what happened as a service member being refused service by a moslem, and took it upon him/herself to raise hell.

"These stories typically are spread by people who think that Indian Hindus are Muslim."

Yup, happens all the time.

My personal experience is of an Indian Hindu family buying the local liquor store. Although the previous white American family were cordial enough, the Hindu family couldn't be more polite and helpful.

Just recently I asked the elder Father if he had any more of the pint size rum I drink in the storage room. He apologized and stopped all business transactions to go out to his truck to get a case that he hadn't had the chance to re-stock. I thanked him for his efforts and he apologized again for not stocking it quickly enough.

He and his Son and their new young American cashier are the friendliest people of our local strip mall. As many times as I've told them to call me by my first name, other than the young American (great kid), the Hindu family always call me sir with a smile and sincerely asks how my day is going. The elder and I have bantered many times and I walk out thinking what an asset to our community.

Personally, I believe that east Indian Hindus are a benefit to our society, and now possibly our strongest military ally, since Britain is succumbing to Islamist PC and diminishing its military. They are the kind of immigrants we want here - not the Somali or other Muslim "gimmes".

To bad people can't tell the difference. But then, I know little about east Indian sikhs and their attitudes. Maybe someone can enlighten me.

As I've always said, I'm not a racist, but I am a culturalist.

YES....I agree....some people mistake Hindu for Islam....about East Indians....your acquaintances are probably VERY glad to be out of India.....CASTE systems relegate people to a certain “class” forever....had a friend who worked with them, (in US) and they said the same...even here in the US at times...probably among themselves.
