Sarah Palin Deserves To Deliver Game Changer Speech At GOP Convention
Examiner ^ | July, 18, 2012 | Kevin Fobbs

Winning the presidency has a lot more to do with the charisma of the leader than it does with the policies that are brought to the American dinner table. Just look at the last sorrowful example the country was saddled with in 2008 with the current president. There is reportedly, current intrigue moving about in the backrooms of GOP political leadership within Romney’s campaign concerning Sarah Palin. It is suggested that Romney is sitting pat on the idea of not issuing Sarah Palin VIP credentials to the August RNC Convention in Tampa, let alone giving her any real speaking role.

The pundits and Palin detractors having been speaking recently about how toxic the idea would be to let a energized Sarah Palin speech loose upon the conventioneers and of course, into millions of American homes across the nation. There are even those within the Republican establishment who want to hang everything that went so badly south in the John McCain 2008 presidential run at the feet of Sarah Palin. Of course the accusation is absolutely unfounded.

Whatever went badly for Senator McCain had more to do with his own inability to project leadership, than it had to do with smarmy characterizations of Sarah Palin by comedienne Tina Fey portrayal of Palin in Saturday Night Live sketches. Or gotcha sophomoric media antics of then CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric.

What has happened since then is a course correction in the grassroots embodied in the emergence of the Tea Party. Its power and strength was given birth out of the out of the president’s failure to lead, except through growing taxation, and failing trillion dollar bailout deficit policies.

Millions of grassroots people became patriots with a principled purpose, in small towns, farming communities, suburbs and cities. They refused to be ...

>> “Seems like the obvious answer is to first not vote for Romney” <<

Really, that is not the answer.

If we take the senate, we need a GOP president in the white house to sign the bills.

The answer is to contribute to the defeat of the GOPE leadership in the primaries, even if they are not in your state. We have to get the dead wood out of leadership to ever have any choice in the presidency.

Romney will be appointing judges that are served up to him by the senators, not picking them himself. Common sense has to prevail at some point.

RE :”Far as I know, Saint Sarah took care of that herself when she decided not to run.

Gold star.

Hell, why dont they just demand that the GOP give her ALL the delegates and coronate her nominee without her even running? then whine when it doesnt happen?

How about Queen? Queen of fools?

Sarah took care of that herself when she decided not to run.

And she takes of not being asked to speak by not endorsing/supporting the nominee. It's her choice, she has a plenty big media megaphone, she's not a victim here.

If ever Romney lost Palin support he would be finished. The GOP would be finished as a viable party if this crap continues.

Has ANYONE ever given a keynote speech at a presidential convention without endorsing the candidate?

Every keynote speech at a national convention that I have ever heard has a line like this, “So join me in helping to elect __________ to be President of the United States!!!!!!”

What does she say, “Now go find someone to cast your vote for who is not Barack Obama!!!”

Yeah, it’s really kinda obvious isn’t it?

Not sure why there’s such a proclivity to provoke teapot tempests in the media lately.

If Sarah Palin wanted to speak at the GOP convention so badly, she should have run and won !

But alas, one of her children didn’t want her to. Screw America that really, really needed her.

Actually she deserves to deliver the acceptance speech, but the GOP-e took care of that.

I'm a big fan of Sarah Palin but I'm not buying that.

She chose not to run for the nomination, therefore she does NOT deserve for it to be handed to her. Had she run, I believe she would have easily steamrollered to the nomination. Bachman, Cain, Santorum, Gingrich, etc., never would have gotten out of the gate. She would have won Iowa and perhaps even New Hampshire, which would have ended Romney's chances right there. Even if Romney won in New Hampshire, Sarah would have cleaned up on Super Tuesday.

Instead, Sarah decided not to run and the remaining conservatives elected death by circular firing squad - resulting in the nominee we have today. It's not a GOP-e conspiracy. It's us failing to rally around a conservative that could beat Romney. I was here during primary season. I saw the vitriol we had for fellow conservatives who did not support our own "favorite" candidate of the moment. While we were ganging up on Bachmann supporters, then Perry supporters, then Cain supporters, etc., etc., Mitt Romney was in the background biding his time. (Just like he is doing now with respect to Obama.)

I would love to still see Sarah speak at the convention but it's not her show anymore. If she fails to endorse Romney, one cannot blame Romney for not inviting her to speak. For if Sarah is not endorsing Romney, any convention speech from her has potential to do him harm.

Romney might not be our best case scenario but he's not stupid.

The day after Romney is elected, is the day I start to hammer him and the RINO GOPe. Sarah will rise again.

Additionally, I have never seen her say a single syllable about even wanting to run. She played it quite coy by maintaining a presence but never expressed a desire to re enter the political fray. She is ever ready to deliver a strong conservative message that many want to hear but so does our own Jim Robinson and many others here. None have a desire to run either.

It is my thought that she has been offered a non prime time speaking slot and perhaps refused it wanting a more prominent time. So far, that has not happened.

Although it pains me to say it....... Sarah was

Ron Paul has already done that in Minnesota, Maine, Colorado and Louisiana without winning a single primary.

It seems to me that the people who should be given the spotlight are the GOP up-and-comers who have called up the GOP and said, “Let me know what I need to do to help” and have committed to working their butt off until November.

Did she run? I don’t recall seeing her name on ballot here in MA. Maybe she quit before then.

"Romney will be appointing judges"

You mean Judges like Roberts that just gutted the Constitution with his invented new non-behavior tax? No thanks.

She may well deserve a speaking role, but I don’t see why she’d want it. There is a pretty fair chance that willard will lose. So why be associated with a loser? Worse yet, a loser who doesn’t reflect your views,

Sarah didn't run because the fix has been in for Mittens since 2008. The GOP knew conservatives/Republicans would not pull their heads out of their back ends and support someone who has the balls to fix things. Sarah knew it too. It should be real clear to all that the GOP and Sarah were correct. OMG, OMG, OMG we have to nominate someone who can beat Obama.....so we are going to nominate someone just like Obama. Yea us!!

Team Romney and the GOPe took Sarah out very early in the election cycle. It is all nicely documented. Sarah scares the crap out of the GOPe so no way was Sarah going to be allowed to run for the GOP nomination. I am pretty sure Sarah calls herself a conservative not a Republican. I doubt the lack of an invite upsets her much.

“Sarah Palin Deserves To Deliver Game Changer Speech At GOP Convention”

She’s a Conservative. How is speaking at the gop Convention even relevant to a Conservative?
