The Establishment Hates Ted Cruz, You and Me
Redstate.com ^ | 18 July, 2012 | Erick Erickson

Posted on 07/18/2012 4:19:15 PM PDT by RitaOK

The most difficult thing to explain to your average Republican voter is how people like David Dewhurst, Charlie Crist and all the establishment, ladder-climbing, butt-kissing, near permanent political staff flacks who grow up to be lobbyists they put around them literally hate you, me, and conservative fighters like Ted Cruz. And newsflash — it’s not just Washington, but in state capitols throughout America, just like Austin.

I have many good friends in Austin and one of them overheard the following conversation yesterday a few blocks down from the Texas State Capitol Building. Trust me, folks, this is just a glimpse into what the Republican establishment thinks about us.

They are after conservatives everywhere. Our own party and the Dems are after us. It is stand and deliver time.

Nice. Love this.

But ... so many of we “conservatives” will dutifully vote for Romney and wonder why the GOP ignores us.

Evil hates good.

Psalm 36:4 “Even on his bed he plots evil; he commits himself to a sinful course and does not reject what is wrong”.

Psalm 97:10 “Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for HE guards the lives of HIS faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked”.

Cruz is polling good but Dewhurst has TV ads ruining every where saying he was in the CIA and he wants to shut the border down. I have yet to see an ad for Cruz.

I’m glad Erickson’s eyes are finally opening to this fact. If you’re a conservative or a Tea Party type, the GOP-e blue-bloods hold you in abject contempt. They might want your vote and speak nicely when election time rolls around, but face it, they hate your damned guts.

The elite establishment hates ANY kind of conservatives. This will be the first time in 77 years that I will not be voting for a president. The “McCainites” are just as dangerous as the commies we now have.

Thank you, RNC for putting Horrifying Dirty Harry Reid back in office. They gave Sharon Angle NO help because she was a tea party candidate. I will always remember you for that. It’s pretty obvious the Roves, Bushes and McCains think they’ve won the battle against the tea party. They HATE us!

The other statewide race in which the Texas R establishment is trying to stop a conservative is the Medina/Devine race for the Texas Supreme Court.

Medina was appointed to the TSC by the R establishment because he is “Hispanic”. Not only is he an affirmative action hack, he a criminal. He was shtupping someone not his wife; his wife finds out; and, the wife sets their house on fire. Medina was accused of tampering with the evidence of his wife’s felony, but the R establishment swept it under the rug. He also has shady financial dealings.

In fact, a Houston grand jury voted to indict Medina, and the R establishment managed to get the thing set aside.

The same people who are beating the drum for Dewhurst have circled the wagons around Medina.

There is a lot of house cleaning to be done in Austin, and we should start with Dewhurst and Medina. Straus should be next up.

“But ... so many of we “conservatives” will dutifully vote for Romney and wonder why the GOP ignores us.”

I have no idea what you mean by “dutifully,” but I will vote for Romney because he is preferable to Obama, just like I will vote for Cruz in the run-off election because he is preferable to Dewhurst. I will keep voting for whomever I think is the best candidate, just like I have done for the past 40-some-odd years. I doubt I will ever get to vote for someone I think is the perfect candidate; and if I do and he or she wins, it will likely turn out that my evaluation of him or her was wrong.

But what I won’t do is wonder why the GOP or anybody else “ignores” me. Folks in the minority tend to get ignored (or much worse) in a democracy. You just keep truckin’ in a lifelong effort of voting for the candidates you think are best and trying to convince others of the merits of your positions.

I live in the soviet republic state of Ca. and sent Ted money, twice. I want to support as many conservs who win their primaries to take back the Senate from the Reid socialists. Yep, I will vote for Mitt because not to is to allow the worst Prez in my 73 yrs. to continue to destroy the republic, our heritage, our history and values. Any other vote is wasted if Americans want a chance to see America prosper and still be free. No excuses from the purists and please I have been a conserv since 15 when speaking with Bill Buckley and corresponding during my college years. So no BS . Libertarians, Indies, Reagan Dems, TEAS all should vote every Pub they can into office or we will all be in the Govt’s pocket and lose our liberties. Period.

The only Dewhurst commercial I hear on the radio is the Chinese mining tire one. He has yet to mention one single reason or position in a radio commercial that would make me want to support him.

Cruz’s commercials actually talk about the positions he holds.

I don’t have a clue about either ones TV commercials as I don’t watch TV.

Folks in the minority tend to get ignored (or much worse) in a democracy.

Earth to olrtex, conservatives are the majority in the Republican Party, in votes, but not in money. Guess which one the leadership cares about? The consultants and hacks would rather spend more in defeat than less in victory.

That's the real problem, and as long as you and people like you assume the attitude of passive acceptance, it will so remain.
