I’d bet that Obama doesn’t even know who built the Golden Gate Bridge.
Brilliantly written! Passed it on to all on my email list.
We built this city on Rock & Roll. Not on Government, chump.
With all of Obama's talk about his one crowning achievement in office, I keep wanting to hear someone say something like:
Hey Obama, you think you got Bin Laden, you didn't do that. Somebody else made that happen. You didn't catch Bid Laden. It was somebody else who did that.
The difference between what Obama said and this statement is that this one is the truth. Obama's statement is a lie.
Why is Russia a steaming pile?
Why is Europe on the verge of total collapse?
Why is every nation south of the border a corrupt, drug ridden cesspool?
Why haven't the war lords across Africa failed to bring lollipops, unicorns, and rainbows to the people of the world?
Mr. Obama? I'm waiting....
Government built things using tax money they collected
To use that money to build roads and bridges and then say “you owe me” is completely backwards
(That would make a great point in a Romney speech, wouldn’t it?)
That is one of the finest pieces I’ve read in a very long time....and there are some mighty fine things shared here on FR.
Romney gave a really good but short speech about small business at this link. This is at the Middlesex Truck & Coach Company in Roxbury Massachusetts.
A tip of the hat to you Mr. Boortz. Brilliant.
A tip of the hat to you Mr. Boortz. Brilliant.
Government is not all bad. In fact, a properly limited government serves to protect businesses and citizens and create the necessary legal frameworks, like contract law, necessary for healthy commerce. That is NOT what we have today. Neal Boortz nailed this one.
Well written Neal. Good job.
I am glad I could read your remarks instead of listening to them on your radio program. It would take you at least 45 minutes to get through that material.
SOME writers have so confounded society with government, as to leave little or no distinction between them; whereas they are not only different, but have different origins. Society is produced by our wants, and government by our wickedness; the former promotes our happiness positively by uniting our affections, the latter negatively by restraining our vices. The one encourages intercourse, the other creates distinctions. The first is a patron, the last a punisher.Society in every state is a blessing, but government even in its best state is but a necessary evil in its worst state an intolerable one - Thomas Paine, Common Sense
There have been some well written and passionate responses to “You didn’t build that.” Glad to see the right unite.
That one sentence may give us enough momentum to see images of Fonzi on water skis dancing in our dreams a year from now.
Which means Obama was explaining why we are peasants. Obama was actually explaining to us his reasons why we live under a system of feudalism and there is nothing we can do about it.
His hatred of and disdain for businessmen is unprecedented. Before a businessman pays himself, he pays wages, unemployment, employee benefits, taxes, insurance, rent, inventory, accounting, maintenance, advertising, loan payments, all kinds of government fees, etc. If there is any money left, he finally pays himself. He is the one taking all the risk.
