Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney blamed President Barack Obama for a "lack of leadership" on the crisis in Syria on Thursday and accused him of abdicating the U.S. role to the United Nations.
Romney turned the U.N. Security Council's failure to approve a Western-backed resolution threatening sanctions against the Syrian regime into an assault on Obama's foreign policy. Russia and China resisted U.S. pressure and vetoed the resolution.
"While Russia and Iran have rushed to support (Syrian President) Bashar al-Assad and thousands have been slaughtered, President Obama has abdicated leadership and subcontracted U.S. policy to Kofi Annan and the United Nations," Romney said in a statement.

what would romney do?? bomb? invade? or mind our own damned business?
So Mittens wants to bomb Syria? Exactly what part of “15 trillion deficit” does this schmuck not understand? Besides, those “rebels” will only replace the present Syrian leadership with a more religious, more scummy replacement with a beard. Bloody fools.
They must have removed the part of the article where Romney said he wants to bomb Syria. I couldn’t find it on my computer.
Just wondering..since your a ‘newbie’ if your a liberal political SUPPORTER, I BELIEVE YOUR AT THE WRONG SITE..
The seat of terrorism can be found in Moscow. Even Al-Qaeda’s former number two guy (now number one) was trained by the FSB, at least according to the poor fellow who got some Polonium 210 in his coffee in the UK. Ergo, the Russkies are playing both sides either way.
Better to let the barbarians kill each other, and not waste our time and money supporting Muhammad over Accchhhhhmed.
The real problem in Syria, is that our Leftist leadership is failing spectacularly. They won the Presidency over their criticism of how GWB handled Iraq. And Iraq was handled correctly. That is exactly how you handle a madman with possible WMD. What Obama and Hillary are doing with Assad in Syria, is the text book incorrect way. And they have to play it that way otherwise their base might actually wake up. And say, that is exactly what GWB did. So they cannot handle the situation properly.
As a result, the terrorist that everyone likes to play with, but no one controls, will soon have all the Chemical and WMD components they could possibly handle.
Romney doesn’t have to do anything, he’s not President.
This is called “criticising the Incumbent”, something the Democrats did constantly with Bush. This is the slow undermining of the “Obama brand”. This is politics.
This is something McCain never attempted, maybe that’s why you’re so shocked.
“The US plays the terrorists just as bad as Russia. Remember Afghanistan and the Mujaheddin. We (CIA) initially trained and equipped Bin Laden.”
This is a myth I remember fondly from the Bush years. Bin Laden wasn’t even in the Mujaheddin. He was a foreigner and an independent who provided his own funding, and operated independently.
If handling it properly involves kicking their asses, spending trillions rebuilding them, and then watching the place revert to Islamic control, you can count me out.
Was talking about handling Saddam Hussein, a dictator with prior WMD, has nothing to do with rebuilding the Iraqi country afterwards. That was when GWB got off the tracks and I suspect many global leftist actually aided and abetted the insurgency. Saddam was a secular socialist and they did not like seeing him removed. Brainwashed leftist like all socialists (Castro, Chavez, etc..) no matter how totalitarian. They are helping the Islamic insurgency again in Syria right now. Probably helped in Libya and Egypt also. They are their own worse enemies.
We gave stingers to the Mujaheddin. It was the turning point in the war. And we did provide training and materials to Bin Laden, no matter if he was a loner or part of a group which later became known as al Qeada.
By same moral dictum; it can be said, that 'America' should never vote a Liberal, to be in charge of anything; and that in includes a 'war'.
"It is time to help al Qaeda, again."
"It is time to help al Qaeda, again."
