Sex dungeon details emerge in California death of deployed Marine's wife

A woman killed in California this year while her husband, a U.S. Marine, was deployed in Afghanistan was the victim of television-inspired sadomasochist violence, search warrants filed by police and prosecutors showed on Thursday.

A seven-page note left by one of three suspects charged in the murder of 22-year-old Brittany Killgore led police to a "sex dungeon" in the basement of a home in Fallbrook, a small community adjacent to the Camp Pendleton military base north of San Diego.

The case has received intense media coverage in the San Diego area, home to both Camp Pendleton and a large naval base, where public sympathy over the death of the young wife of a deployed service member is high.

Killgore was last seen alive on April 13, just days after she had filed for divorce, heading out on what was supposed to be a dinner date with 45-year-old U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sergeant Louis Perez, police said.

I certainly hope that they are going to be appropriately sensitive in this investigation. After all, the practice of sadomasochism is just another sexual orientation. Likely that people are born that way.

I mean, after all, society should not judge those who just choose to love in a slightly different fashion that the majority.

And, hey, if death is the result...well, that's their business. After all, they were born that way.

Sorry, this was the first article I read where it was definitive that she was not a willing participant.

Sad for the woman and, though she was in the process of seeking a divorce, sad for the husband.

Sad and disgusting that this was ("allegedly") done by a Marine Sergeant.

It this story is accurate, there definitely was a "premeditation" involved here on his part.

Can't help but wonder if so, whether there were any "signs" of his demented, psycho, proclivities that others knew about, but ignored?

Thinking about your question, I recall that there is a standard comment made whenever a disgusting crime of this sort is uncovered:”He was such a nice guy. I can’t believe he did this. He was quiet, polite, funny and sensitive” etc, etc.

Perhaps there eventually are people who begin to speak out, a former girlfriend or wife or someone with an emotional investment who finally exits denial. However, psychopaths are usually bright and often very well-organized and capable of keeping these aspects of their lives separated.

this kind of depravity occurs around military bases, also wife swapping, all sorts of revolting behavior. Lifers in the military have no money problems, all their decisions including furniture for their quarters are made for them, all they have to do is live their lives. If they are stupid, this is the kind of stuff that goes on. If they have morals, they live a good life and raise their families.

I call bull$hit. If such depravity were as wide spread as you say, there would have been plenty of reporting.

I recommend you provide some proof to back up your baseless charges.

I have lived on base and can tell you, you are full of bs.

I love your comment about how we don’t even have to worry about furniture. It is obvious you have never lived in base housing.

I served on active duty for 8 years, and lived in Bachelor's Officers Quarters for about two of those.

I spent countless hours in other visitations of base housing, whether it was visiting friends and associates, or checking on my younger married soldiers to make sure everything was ok.

That was necessary in Germany, as young enlisteds don't make much money, and you had the separation of family issues to deal with.

Accordingly, I continue to call your post "bull$hit".

Thanks for your service...Semper Fi!

I was lucky: four years on AF bases during my tour in Germany. Facilities were much better than at Army bases.

I can remember being stationed in Germany and living not on base but in a small town near the base. The military did provide some furniture for members at the time. In the on-base housing or established housing areas, each domicile was furnished.

The point is that there are service members here representing eras from Korea, Vietnam, Iraq 1/2, Afghanistan, etc. I'd hazard to guess benefits, policies and procedures have varied quite a bit.

Regardless of those trivialities, in my 8 years I never heard of 'depravities' 'sex-dungeons' and the like. Frankly, something like that would be too hard to hide.

I have and there is no more significance of these lifestyles on/near military bases than there are in any other areas or cities with massive, close-quartered population. In other words, morals in mass population are most often governed by the lowest common denominator. Why do you think Agenda 21 is such a priority? They want morality to diminish and ultimately disappear!

In the past, if such conduct was discovered through complaints, divorce, accidental discovery, etc... the culprits were disciplined! I personally know of several Conduct Unbecoming, Article 120 and Article 134 proceedings involving various lifestyles.

Of course, with our military now openly accepting degenerates and moral-less recruits, I foretell a MUCH worsening of the lifestyles of which you speak, and probably in short-order; even WORSE, there will be no stalling or disciplining these incidents - once again lowering the common denominator even more! It will not take long for the United States military to be in disarray - just what Obama, the Democrats and the rest of the world would like to see!

Honestly, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. I knew plenty of upstanding fellow servicemembers who lived out in town in San Diego, just like I knew of plenty of off the grid parties that were attended by plenty of military that would just blow your mind. There was nore than a bit of depraved behavior going on.

As the commander of a unit comprised of men and women, I had enough issues to deal with when it came to fraternization, sexual harassment, etc.

I can't imagine what it will be like for unit commanders now that DADT has been repealed. I'll bet they'll be spending more time doing CYA work than training their soldiers.

I got out in December of 1994. Due to the "kinder, gentler" (in other words, PC-correct) military, most unit commanders and career NCO's were already in CYA mode! The accused were almost ALWAYS guilty, if not of the charges, SOMETHING which they would use to instill discipline and subjugation to the new politically-correct ways of the military. As a Sergeant, I was pressured more than once to "see the value of the changes." MY A$$! My leaving by way of a medical discharge was a blessing, because I was not (and am NOT) PC!

The United States military was as close to being a member of a "socialist society" that I ever want to be! It USED TO BE about the good of America and the unit, but not at the expense of any one group - in other words, we all got screwed EQUALLY! Now, the lazy, soft can't be pushed too hard (the red card program -YUCK!)! The degenerates and moral-less have the right to march in Pride parades (but if you show up at a Pro-Life protest in uniform see if you are not brought-up on charges)!

The purpose of the military is to fight wars and bring home the most number of American's ALIVE! Anything, ANYTHING that undermines this purpose is subversive and treasonous! Directives and changes that will, and have, lead to rancor and divisions among the ranks is simply wrong headed, I don't care WHO it upsets! As a front-line Marine Corps combat veteran, I can tell you - UNEQUIVOCALLY - that undivided cohesion is a necessary evil, even at the expense of someones (or a whole class/group of someones) "feelings!"

Thank you for your service as well.

Your comments about Germany are correct and well taken. Furniture is provided to military members serving overseas because of weight limits imposed on household good shipments. Furniture is not (and has not for at least the last 40 years) provided for CONUS locations. This event occurred in California and base housing in California is not furnished, but your point about Germany is well taken none the less.

well we had base (althugh i the Army it is called “post” not “base”) furniture, but it was in the 80s....so guess it’s not so “obvious” because I did indeed spend years in BOQ, it was Army, maybe we had furniture and the Marines don’t Idk.

I totally agree, it is going to get much worse because of the moral infirmity and how it will spread to matters of security, people betraying things, it is a complete nightmare

Some, not all the lifers have the perks you take for granted. If living on Base they have the housing/furniture in most cases and this along with on post shopping, medical and dental care, along with a fair salary if they properly manage it makes being a Lifer a good thing; living off post not so much but still not bad.
