This is disrespectful pandering. We have soldiers who deserve a flag at half “mast” as well, and what about the tribal wars in California and Chicago? What about the Fort Hood “workplace incident”?

I seem to recall a bruhaha whith the Idiot in Chief refusing to fly flags at half staff when some soldiers were killed in an attack, but he will lower the flags for a bunch of people at a movie theatre?

I think flags were lowered to half-staff for a day or two for Judge John Roll, Jared Loughner’s rarely-mentioned victim.
Viewing tonight and funeral tomorrow in my community for a 20 year old Army Specialist KIA by and IED in Afghanistan.

They were at half-staff at Ft Hood. Just not at Binghamton NY (13 killed) or McLendon, Michael Kenneth, March 10 2009 (10 killed) Kinston, Samson & Geneva, AL. They were at half staff for Ft Hood and Gabby Giffords shootings. I guess since it’s an election year...
In the United States, the President can issue an executive order for the flag of the United States to be flown at half-staff upon the death of principal figures of the United States government, and others, as a mark of respect to their memory.
Why would he? He already had the radical Islamic vote.
This one is being used for the youth vote. You know, he "cares so much for those kids in the theater (until after November, anyway)"

The President, by comparison, is authorized to half-staff the US flag by proclamation upon the death of principal figures of the US Government and the Governor of a State, territory, or possession, as well as in the event of the death of other officials or foreign dignitaries.
