About 15 years ago, using a #2 shovel, a steel bar for breaking rock and my bare hands, I dug a hole for my 25’ flagpole. I should have had a truck bring in cement, but because of a self imposed schedule, I was forced to use 36 bags of cement to plant that pole.
One week later when my son enlisted in the U.S. Army, I raised the flag, and one had flown every day and every night, until the day of Obama’s inauguration.
On that tragic day, I brought my flag down, folded it and put her away.
There will not be a U.S. flag flown at my house until that corrupt-goat butt smelling muslim bastard is permanently ejected from our White House. Although, I may decide to raise her on the very day that Obama loses the election. What a glorious day that will be.

We took a different tack to protest the muslim usurper:
The flag of Israel joined Old Glory, as did the Crusaders’ Jerusalem flag.
We’re Christians, living in a city known to have Hezbollah and Al Qaeda cells. A friend who is retired Special Forces took one look, chuckled, and said: “Bait?”
I guess he didnt “respect” the 10 people of color murdered just over Memrorial Day weekend in Chicago??

Oh, puh-leeeze. We have a theater full of people who paid an arm and a leg to see a movie in the middle of the night. And we have American troops dying every day for their/our country. Who deserves respect and recognition?
Obama is thrilled this happened. Another nail in the coffin of the Second Amendment.
That’s why I had previously asked what the protocol was for having flags flown at half staff. While this is definately a tragedy it does not rise to the level of sacrifice of our men and women in the military

How come yesterday morning he didn’t order the United States flag flown at half-staff in honor of all the murder victims in all the high-crime urban crime districts of the U.S. from the night before?
I am sure the total for that one night was more than a dozen, and I am sure that the perpetrators were not random lone nut cases but sheer thugs, thugs who most often got THEIR guns illegally.
Either he didn’t believe nightly regular murder victims in the nation were as worthy of Presidential attention, or, just maybe there was less of a political reason for him to use them, as his political prop, than it was to use the victims in Denver.
He has no political desire, EVER, to bring up the faces of the nation’s murderers from our high-crime districts from the night before, but using a lone, random nut job as a prop for “gun control” fits his ideological bent. That is 100% all of what his show today is all about.

I doubt that people would get it, but if I were a politician, in a conservative area, I’d keep lowering the flag in memory of the people being killed in Chicago, basically every day. These are lives broken apart - and many of them were not bad people.
I would honor them, every day, right until Jan 20, 2013 (just as the media stopped ‘honoring’ our troops that died, the minute Bush left office).

Our Walmart had the flag at half staff this afternoon. I wonder if the president had given the order.
Here is a sickening thought that someone here has probably already made but I haven’ read it yet.
Obama will get a bounce form the Aurora shootings like he did after the Grifford shooting.
He will attend the funerals and say pretty things about compassion and understanding and non-violence and the need for us all to come together and love one another and re-elect him.
People will swoon. It could incite a new wave of Obama fever and push up his numbers.
Anyone know if the murderer is an Obama fan? That could have been the motive.
