Obama's Campaign Attack on Romney was Costly

WASHINGTON — President Obama's sharp turn to the offensive against GOP challenger Mitt Romney last month came at a steep cost: nearly $58 million.

That's how much the president's reelection campaign burned through in June as it pounded Romney's business record and personal finances; its relentless television campaign alone cost $38 million, according to campaign finance reports filed Friday with the Federal Election Commission.

The expensive barrage came even as Romney and his affiliated party committees outraised Obama and his Democratic Party fundraising partners for the second month in the row, $106 million to $70 million.

Heading into July, Romney and his party allies were left with nearly $170 million on hand, while Obama and the Democrats had $147 million.

That disparity — along with a record-breaking $20.6-million haul in June by the pro-Romney "super PAC" Restore Our Future — underscored the momentum enjoyed by Republicans in the money race, a source of sharp anxiety among Democrats.

I know I said that the only thing Romney would get from me is my vote, but now that he is taking the fight to Obama, I might cave on that, flip a little here, flop a little there, and break out the credit card. It is a little painful, not like the joy I felt contributing to Duncan Hunter, but to see Romney give Obama a good whupen’, is worth the discomfort to my political sensitivities. ...Maybe I’ll wait to see if Romney is going to keep it up.

‘Relentless television campaign’ - oh dear, missed it entirely. Only the lib-obama-bots watch tv for their news anyway. The rest of us unplugged long ago.

I’m getting there, too. If he chooses an acceptably Conservative running mate, I’m all in.

A few million in ads to defend that one. He isn’t serious, at all, about even ‘acting’ presidential while campaigning. Someone must have told him, it’s in the bag already.

Does anyone even watch this crap? I record what few shows I watch and fast forward through the commercials. I have no time or use for commercials.

I believe that just might be true! Our voting machines now belong to an outsourced company in another country. They will be responsible for the count.

I don’t trust this system at all! I am really panicked about it actually!

One of the smartest things a candidate can ever do is to get his/her opponent to squander their funds on irrelevant nonsense!!! (then watch them aim that nonsense at apathetic, small minded people)

Good grief! How much do you have to pay for an email account to send out your talking points to all of your toadies in the state run media?

And to add to my statement:

It has also been claimed that SKYTL CEO Pere Valles is a socialist who donated heavily to the 2008 Obama campaign and lived in Chicago during Obama’s time as Illinois State Senator. SKYTL owns and operates the software for these voting machines.

" Our voting machines now belong to an outsourced company in another country."

You can relax a bit - this was way overblown. Each state runs their own system, not the fed. Dig into it a bit.

You can start here.

Not only is a presidential election actually 50 individual state elections, many voting machines are local/county and never seen or interacted with by the feds, and sometimes not even by states.

The Clinton campaign targeted specific states very early in 1996, effectively locking up the election months before the actual balloting. Bobo may be trying to replicate that victory. Unfortunately for Shoomy, not only is his economy a shambles compared to Buba’s DOT COM boom, but Clinton won by re-branding himself as a centrist, while Hussein just keep getting more radical.

Good lord Bozo the Clown could have locked up that election versus Bob Dole and Gore’s bootlicker J. Kemp. Literally the first sentence in Dole’s speach at the convention all but called his base “racist.” That all but killed the enthusiasm for the old codger without impressing the soccer moms one bit.

Oh man, I haven't heard that name in a long time. What an upright leader America missed out on there! God bless you, Duncan Hunter, wherever you are.
