Two Italian workers missing in Syria: report
Reuters ^ | Saturday, July 21, 2012 | James Mackenzie; Editing by Andrew Osborn

Two Italians working in Syria were detained by a group of armed men as they drove to the airport to fly out of the country, the daily Secolo XIX said on Saturday, citing a colleague of the men who managed to leave Damascus.

The newspaper said the two men, employees of a subcontractor for energy technology group Ansaldo Energia, had been detained on Tuesday but that the news only emerged when their colleague contacted the newspaper, which, like Ansaldo, is based in the northwestern city of Genoa.

A report on the newspaper's website said the men were travelling in a convoy of 20 staff who worked for Ansaldo and subcontractors, and that 18 of them had returned home safely.

But the two men had become separated from the group when it was stopped and ended up in the hands of a rebel group, it said.

The person who reported the information did not give his name or the name of the company he worked for, the newspaper added.

No comment was immediately available from either the foreign ministry or Ansaldo Energia, but the newspaper quoted a ministry source as saying it was aware of the report and was following events closely. However, the source described the circumstances surrounding the incident as "unclear".

Oh my GOODNESS! We better intervene on the side of the rebels!!! **Another** breathless story telling us why Syria must be toppled and handed over to the Jew-hating, America-hating, Israel-hating, islam-loving rebels!

Love how anyone thinks American interests would be on iota improved by these “rebels” (created by Hillary, Huma, and Obama) taking over. Thank the lord that this time Putin outsmarted Obaba and had Russian technicians on the ground before they could start a bombing campaign. Three and a half more months till our election.

Bite me, I’m just glad we arent going into Syria,,,yet. At least Putin is a Christian and loves oil drilling, a gold backed trade currency, and a national 15% flat tax.

The threads of atrocity, tragedy, and NATO tripwires in Syria seem to come about every half hour now.

Lesse here,,
Syrian Tanks on Turk border,

Syrians have all the WMDs,

Syrian artillery is pounding rebel daycare kindergartens,

Syrian Mi-24s coming home from Russia!

Syrian death squads,,mass murdering rebels as they have a debate, “resolved, we should more heavily weight the ideas of Madison more than those of Jefferson”,

Syrian AAA menacingly shoots at Turk reconnaissance jets that were innocently crossing the Syrian border. Could this mean all of NATO must invade Syria??!!

I’ve also seen great stories about how the British think they should board Russian ships headed to Syria. And people here seem stoked about the possibility to go to war with Russia over which batch of mooslems runs Syria.

The sky is fallling the sky is falling!!

Banning new mosques in Moscow,, banning gay parades, rolling out air droppable Orthodox chapels for their airborne troops, orthodox churches in their subs. Putin sure is a bad bad guy.

I’ll get my head right and join in with Hillary, Humma Wiener, and Obama. Then ill know Islam should be subsidized, that new mosques are awesome, and that all military monuments with crosses should be torn down. And ill try to accept that sodomite/homos should be wearing their uniforms in gay parades, kiss other men, get married, and rule our nation. And the government should tax away everything we have and inflate away the rest. Oh,,and we should NEVER drill our own oil.

Glad you are supporting Obamas effort to let NATO “mutually defend” itself by invading Syria and installing the same guys from Egypt.

There are no good guys in Syria, only really bad and worse. There ain’t no Jefferson or Madison among ‘em.

And that cartoon is a joke. Th average Syrian won’t be any more free no matter who wins.

Amen. The way i see it, any argument against Assad can be made in spades against the rebels. They have WMDs,, they hate Israel, they hate the USA, support terror,,etc. How would ANY of those issues be fixed by installing the local Muslim Brotherhood/Sunni branch instead of Baath types.
And the best part, the minute the rebels win,, they’ll get BILLIONS in aid from us. (which we will immediately borrow
from China on their behalf)

At least Assad lets Christians there do their thing. This new bunch? I wouldn’t hold my breath.

And the defense of Hillary and Obama's foreign policy is a righteous cause ? This is what it has wrought.

“It wants to burn Syria": Desperate dictator's regime 'prepares for a chemical strike'

Three top generals fled Syrian tyrant Bashar al-Assad overnight, saying he was about to unleash chemical weapons.

One of the fugitives, General Mustafa Sheikh, said chemical weapons were being moved across Syria in readiness to be fired in revenge for a bomb blast that killed Assad’s powerful brother-in-law and three more top regime officials this week.

But alas, do not worry, Obama and Hillary have just informed the world that they are tracking all the Chemical and Biological WMD that Syria possess.

There are not even any really bad and worse. Meanwhile, the outcome will be decided by enemies of the US, so that should make you happy.

Listen, I don’t give a rat’s spit who wins this fight. Whoever it is will hate America and Israel.

So unless you’re talking about blowing the entire country back to hell, which would be the right and proper thing to do, I’m not interested.
