Sources tell FOX31 Denver reporter Justin Joseph that a second man is now a person-of-interest in the Aurora theater shooting investigation. We are not disclosing his identity because he has not been charged.
Twelve people were killed and 58 injured early Friday when James Egan Holmes allegedly opened fire inside the crowded theater.
Neighbors of the person of interest say for the past two days there have been SWAT team and police cars in their alley and unmarked cars in street.
Hes been there about a year, said one neighbor.
Agents showed up again this morning.
I woke up this morning with cops still here trying to look inside his home. At 5:00 a.m. cops showed-up and asked me about (him).
Sources tell Justin Joseph someone made a call from the person of interests phone threatening violence if James Egan Holmes was not released from jail. That call prompted police to issue an alert to find and detain him.

I keep wondering where he attained the knowledge for making the bombs and booby traps in the apartment- and where an unemployed student got the money for this and all the guns and ammunition.
All of the above can be purchased online without ID.
I was not aware that the body armor is “Law enforcement only”, I new it was highly regulated, due to a couple of bank robbers in California. The fact that it is only sold to law enforcement officials, opens this up to obvious corruption even more.
I was working that night. As soon as there was word of a shooting I put Aurora police/ emergency on the internet scanner. The link was also posted on a FR thread. My thread was a few minutes behind others because I was getting the scanner running.
There was POSITIVELY an exchange that mentioned one suspect in custody, a second person - described as a floor cleaner- being held at gunpoint. There was a strange request for other officers to assist in holding...the wording was sit with..the floor cleaner. In the meantime other police traffic indicated a frantic search on for yet another perp.
There was a problem with the parking lot lights going out, probably on a timer, and officers were told that if the woman manager didn’t know how to get them on to pretty dang fast get someone there who did.
Some of the LEO’s involved in the exchange were at Alameda and Sable(? It was garbled) which I gathered was a little bit away from the scene. However that seems to have been where a search was underway and a perimiter was set up.
My point is the LEO’s absolutely mentioned a second person being detained and a search underway for another.
Wow! Guess I didn’t look deep enough. All the body armor I found via searches was for law enforcement sales. Like I said, wasn’t really serious about buying any, just surfing around.
There are no federal laws on body armor
The Aurora cops did a commendable job in this situation. I’ve listened to the scanner audio with timecode and they were on the scene very quickly, caught the guy and were in the auditorium in minutes.
They clearly learned the lessons of Columbine and it paid off in a surprisingly low number of fatalities given the weapons and the number of victims. The quick aid rendered to the victims was crucial to the high survival rate.
Body armor is easily available. There are thousands of pieces of it available on eBay right now.
There are typos, and I make more of them than all of you, for sure. This is not one of them:
It is: They Are or They’re but not their
Just damn
Could we Americans simply get our language straight in order to carry on?
This is an “Occupy” Black Ops group attack on Americans.
Otherwise, the alarm would’ve been going off.
Stop
The potential clues as to the how and why (and who) of this sad tragedy just get curiouser and curiouser.
.
You’re the no nothing from last week...
Your bell got rung hard...
Now ya show up jabbering about spelling?
Clowns abound.
All due respect to anyone and everyone from 101st.
I’ve lots to tell there.
So I’ll take it with a:

Night
lol...
Yep, Holmes started there in June 2011.
They’re were no periods?
Guess I no nothing.
Well, you got that part right.
I have read in several places that he was collecting unemployment also. Don’t know how much that would be but it’s over and above the previously stated sources of income.
Remember Oklahoma?
What a stomach turning combo. ick
creepy I was just thinking the same thing. In TDK Joker let himself get captured and had an inside helper blow the place up and help him escape.
“UPDATE:
According to KMGH, the person of interest was questioned tonight in connection with sending a text message. NOT a suspect in shootings.”

Have a link, by any chance?
CEO of TacticalGear.com, which said it sold Holmes a Blackhawk urban assault vest for $107, along with a triple pistol magazine, an M16 magazine pouch and a silver knife.

someone posted it on twitter so sorry no link but I will be on the lookout for any additional info
“Beginning to sound more and more like a couple lefties”
I wonder if the attack could be an Obama October surprise of sorts?
Remember how Obama got a bump after the Grifford shootings?
And how everyone fell in love with Clinton after the Oklahoma City bombing?
Obama will give an eloquent speech at a well televised memorial and suddenly the magic will be back.
Could this mass murderer be an Obama fan? Maybe a campaign volunteer?
I don’t think there are any limits on ammo purchases that he would have run afoul of.
I would have no trouble buying that much ammo. I probably have that much ammo now, if you count it all up.
A 1,000 round case is a commonly purchased amount of .223 or 5.56 ammo. Or even .40 S&W.
For all we know so far, his body armor might have been cheap junk.
I like it. Patsy a la Oswald.
LEOs absolutely mentioned a second person being detained and a search underway for another.
I am a bit skeptical of Aurora police officers. Though I do believe without a doubt they have the sick SOB killer. He stood there after.
40 innocent citizens cuffed. The ends justify the means cops? Nope, I don't trust them much.
Are you thinking a domestic "Fast and Furious" sting gone awry again?
If he was it was VERY recent or illegally.
As a grad student you have an opportunity to work for the university in the research program for the programs that you’re studying,” university spokeswoman Jacque Montgomery said. “He worked in the neurosciences program. It is a paid position.”

After high school, Holmes received a bachelors degree in neuroscience from the University of California, Riverside, but could not find a job after returning to San Diego several years ago. For a year or so, he worked part-time at a McDonalds, according to Tom Mai, who lives near the Holmes family in San DiegoRiverside in 2010 with a

I was miss informed on ammo limits, please post on FR for correction. GOD bless the living God for truth in this world!
That interests me. I know there are exits out of these theaters, not through the theater itself, but just outside of a group of entrances, that bypass lobbies, usually opening into parking lots. But, shouldn’t the emergency exit alarm when it is opened?
If he had an inside accomplish who got his call on cell phone, it opens up an incredible amount of creepy possibilities.
Tear gas and body armor, yep, it can be purchased online. Explosives he created himself, the information is online or maybe The Anarchist Cookbook-
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Anarchist_Cookbook
There is another FR post indicating huge quantities of ammo bought and around $15,000 spent. Look for it.
I thought of that right away.
If it was the audio Daily Mail made available, it was “scoped”, with the parts between transmissions removed. Nevertheless, all the responding agencies did an excellent job.
(Easy to assume 'overlay' or connection; but need not be. . .again; 'crank calls' expected, from those mentally; 'at large'. Pathetic; there are so many. . .)
