SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Mitt Romney says President Barack Obama's decision to meet with the families of victims of the Colorado shooting was "the right thing."

The Republican presidential candidate spoke to donors in San Francisco Sunday night at roughly the same time Obama consoled grieving families in Aurora, Colo.

Here we go again. I suppose he thinks Barry would make a great president too. How does Barry’s visit bring these people’s loved ones back? If one of my kids was in that theater, they last thing I’d want is Barry knocking at my door.

ignoring conservatives, pushing STATISM, and
defending his Obama. Great candidate he is for the DNC.

Arapaho county in Colorado (Aurora) is one of the singular counties that could give the state to Obama. I am sure the obamaites did not know this.

it’s not the right thing.

evil is evil.

why did a 49 year old get stabbed in a park in Chicago and no one cares?
why did many soldiers have their funerals this week and last week and
no one cares?

Why did a 6 member family get killed in a car accident with a trailer truck
in NY state last week and no one cared?

Why is President Obama inserting himself into a non federal issue or concern?

What is his purpose?

What is he doing?

Why didn’t the Ft. Hood shooter get tagged before his rampage?
WHy isn;’t he classified a terrorist?

Why does ROmney say it’s the right thing to do.I would have said something
that made clear
that Obama ain’t gone to church in a week of Sundays so i don’t know
what the gentleman is doing going 2000 miles for nothing.

Oh wait.
Colorado is a swing state.

It’s the right thing to do because he’s a narcissist. Yes.

Romney you suck.

Romney can only blow this. This election is his and something like this just pisses me off. It’s obvious that Bozo is using this for political reasons.

Did he ever visit Nashville during their big flood? Was he highly visible during the tornadoes in the Midwest?

Romney should have said something to the effect of “Our prayers go out to the victims’ families” and did a “no comment” on Bozo being out there.

President Barack Obama's decision to meet with the families of victims

It's a free photo op. Any other president would do it for the right reason, but not this president.

I don't think Romney had a choice on this one. I think even Mark Levin said it would be the right thing to do for Obama as pResident to go there.

If Romney had said “the President should not be going to Colorado” whether it be because of the economic situation or whatever, the media would be trying to define him as “heartless” and accuse him of trying to play politics with such a tragedy.

The results could be bad for his campaign.

I'm giving Romney a pass on this one. And I stress on this one

Colorado is a critical swing state this year. That explains Obama's visit. If not an election year, he would be on the golf course.

What DOES surprise me is that he is not center stage at tonight's prayer service. I guess the venue is not big enough for his pressence.

I have been thinking about this today.

I want a President who is dull. D U L L. We barely have to see their mug.
DULL but effective at his/her job.
Work with Congress. Keep us informed with prime time addresses like
Reagan. BUT SPARINGLY.

After election, I really don’t want to see Romney’s mug.

When did the US President have to jump into all these media sensations
24/7 cable events? I realize 12 people died and many are injured, but
bad things happen all over the US. The President has no direct business
there. It’s not a federal issue.

The President does not tell us every week how many US soldiers died.
Only ABC This week on Sunday has it at the end.

When did the President become the Healer in Chief? THank god the
families or the powers that be banned politicians in this year’s Sept. 11
remembrance.

WHy can’t we privately deal with things.

I guess it ties in with Obama’s thinking we are collectivists.
The media and the journolists and the TMZ crowd. We all have
to think and act as one.
He has to be in the center of everything.

I feel badly for the families but I am not watching any Colorado
press radio/TV. Once it is mentioned, gone!

He may have likely burst into flames. I will never forget the optics of him at Georgetown in 2009 where he was speaking and had the symbols for Jesus covered up at the podium. When asked about it his handlers just said it was because it would look better or something like that. Obama makes me ill and there is something not right about him.

Agreed, he was caught b/w Barack & a hard place ... if asked point-blank, what’s he supposed to say?

However I think that the visit, however well-meaning (a stretch for BHO), was rushed and timed to deflect from current campaign events.

Typically Americans tend to get fatigued by the President. This normally sets in during the second half of his second term. But Obama’s not a normal President. He’s made more special appearances and had news conferences following every little even that’s happened in the world since taking office. Heck, he may have already surpassed Fidel Castro in some degree. Is it possible that Obama may have sped up the presidential fatigue process?

Of course any intelligent American had had enough of this man from the start of his campaign. The far left could never have enough. But those who claim they are (for whatever reason) still undecided, will a portion of them be suffering from “Obama Fatigue”?

To me it seems like he’s been in office 8 years already.

I guess people that have a problem with Romney’s words could suggest something better for him to say. Such as:

“Obama’s just going there for political purposes, not to really console the families.”

...as if saying something like that will help Romney win. Come on, let’s get real here - we may not like the president, but if the roles were reversed President Romney would be doing EXACTLY the same thing and candidate Obama would be praising him.

BobL,

You are right on target. The IQ on some of these posts lowered the IQ Average of Free republic by 50%.

Let’s say that Romney comes out and says, “Obama has no purpose in visiting the victims of this crime.” For the next seven days he is having to respond to that statement to every member of press he meets.

He’s not supporting Obama if Obama does something right. He is supporting the action of what he’s doing.

By the way, I am so anti-Obama, I’m going to vote against him . . . that’s better than some of you can say.

You know as we all do why Osambo is going to Colorado. I think we all agree on that.

And yet you argue, insulting the rest of us along the way, that your candidate Romney LIE to the country about what he must know as well! (Why not say that he shuddup on the subject?)

Then why didn’t you guys just nominate Alan Keyes, if going out in a BLAZE OF GLORY is your only objective. You know, get your ASS WIPED but wiped on PRINCIPAL. Yea - that would really help this country.

Personally, I’d like to have a candidate that actually is mature enough to win and get Obama out of office (something that you probably don’t even care about at this point, but I still do).

I care most about literacy and knowing the difference between “principle” and “principal”.

Us guys wanted to nominate Newt Gingrich, but you guys preferred a milquetoast lacking principles and convictions. You got him, and the country will choose Osambo, who at least has those convictions and principals (intentional spelling to ease your understanding.)

Nobody here is saying that the Bishop should have said the obvious truth about why Osambo is going to Colorado, as the hypothetical situation inventors with high IQs are accusing us. NO, he should have said nothing! Nothing at all. Because every time the Bishop, like the hapless McCain before him, assures the country that Osambo is doing the “right thing”, the country in its collective wisdom says to itself, heck, if the nice Negro is doing the right thing, then why should I vote for his opponent?
