It's a case of social networking, same-sex marriage, and chicken.
As Chick-Fil-A makes its move into the Bay Area, some local residents unhappy with the company's stance on gay marriage are raising money to fight back. And they're using a Silicon Valley startup's technology to help.
A group of Mountain View residents and employees led by Robert Neivert went online to raise a quick $1,000. That's how much they need to file paperwork opposing the city's plan to let a Chick-Fil-A in. To do it quickly, they went on WePay, which lets you raise money, with a little social networking on the side.
And it worked: The money was raised in a matter of hours. The paperwork will be filed, and technology gets the assist. As Neivert says, "in the old says, you'd have to go to meetings and call friends." Says WePay co-founder Rich Aberman, "It's always nice to see campaigns resonate. People here, including me, sympathize with that campaign."
WePay positions itself as a faster, more convenient choice to Paypal. Now, its technology is giving a boost to the fight for same-sex marriage.
Nope.
Till now i had never heard of it.
Since Ebay owns paypal they won’t let wepay in to the game on ebay..
Thus.. it won’t last long.
It’s never enough to just not go to the place.
With Justice Roberts now flipped, the first amendment is gone. I love Chick- Fil_A. But is will be banned to support decadent homosexual perverts. The end is near.
I don't know when it happened, but I am now a racist, homophobic, bigoted nativist and proud of it.
What has CFA actually done against any gay person?
We’d better start fighting the left and not just observing what kooks they are.
Funny. We have a Chick Fil A, right in the middle of liberal, faggot friendly Hollywood, CA 2 blocks away from the Kodak theater. Another 2 blocks is GLAAD of Hollywood.
It’s ALWAYS full and causes traffic in the side streets. Another 2 blocks is In N Out burger, also a Christian owned private burger house. The homos probably don’t care as it’s popular here but that could change..
It never is.
If a conservative doesnt like guns, he doesnt buy one. If a liberal doesnt like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.
If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn`t eat meat. If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.
If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life. If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.
If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation. A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.
If a conservative doesnt like a talk show host, he switches channels. Liberals demand that those they dont like be shut down.
If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesnt go to church. A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.(Unless its a foreign religion, of course!)
If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it. A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.
I was wrong. I thought there was not a store in Minnesota.. But there is....
One is located in the union building of the U of M (after this.. it probably won’t be there long) and the other...
The airport.. right in the heart of terminal 2...
So.. I can try my luck with the flaming libs at the U of M who are likely staking the place out with 24 hour protests or.. I can subject my self to the TSA and would likely have to buy a ticket to somewhere to get in..
I really want to support them.. but given where they are.. well.. how?

I prefer to use “rational person” and “irrational person”; covers things better.
“I wonder if this company will be around in a year.”
WePay or Chick-Fil-A?
There must be ways to “WePay”-fund conservative pushback.
Sounds like a tactic that could backfire on the ‘rat filth.
If good Americans now stand up and support Chick-fil-a - not only by eating there - but by counter demos and signs and petitions to the city ‘powers that be’ - remind them that this is America and people still have a right to their personal beliefs.
This may be the ‘bell wether’ incident that we can turn around this too long blackmailing of businesses to bend to the demands of the dark side. Jesse Jackson led the way for years. And who fought back for those businesses? NO ONE.
Chick-fil-a has the backbone to stand up to the demands and blackmail. Will We the People stand up with them - or sit back and expect them to fight this all by themselves?
If we don’t stand with them - WE ARE JUST AS GUILTY AS THOSE ON THE OHTER SIDE - sins of omission.
This is NOT just a fight for Chik-fil-a, this is a fight for America’s soul.
but by counter demos and signs and petitions to the city powers that be

People who go to counter demos and sign petitions will lose their jobs. there is no cohesive conservative force to protect people. Leftists are cohesive and will attack, singleing out high profile people who do not fall into line with leftist rhetoric.
I thought that company sounded familiar. The founder was so desperate for a date he made a fool of himself (as they all do) hiring the Queen of Fools on Millionaire Matchmaker.
Unless Nick is delusional, which he obviously isn’t, I am sure he meant wepay. CFA is going nowhere but up.
I am lucky enough to live one mile from a CFA. That restaurant is legendary in Atlanta, and has been for decades (Google the Dwarf House).
I am also about a mile from a McD. Although its food is priced about 50% less than CFA’s, CFA’s food is about ten times better (actually in a different league altogether).
I get a chicken sandwich or chicken salad, and a milkshake at CFA at least once week.
I am a very lucky person.
I’ve been eagerly awaiting their debut here and have been getting out the word to my friends to support them.
Why is any liberal surprised that an unapologetically Christian private company, CLOSED ON SUNDAYS, would support Christian ideals of a marriage between a man and a woman?
Remember “free speech zones” and all that? Where is Dan Cathy’s “free speech zone?”
Yikes! You don’t have good options there. Maybe an email of support would work in your case.
I’ve never eaten breakfast at the Christian Chicken. Think I’ll take the time for that tomorrow.
He stands in opposition to the PC Zampolit of the Lavender Mafia; therefore, his rights are nullified, comrade.
Don’t know about your CFA but here in Houston burbs if you buy a Peach Shake, you get a plastic card like a credit/debit card good for another one free as long as their special lasts. My grandson who loves Peach Shakes and chicken fingers from CFA wanted to order 5 when we were there yesterday so he could have one every night next week. His reasoning: Would make his mom happy to be able to give him something special on the way home from school and it wouldn’t cost her a thing!
With customers like my grandson, CFA will do fine.
The powers that be will run them into the ground. At the very least, they will be buried under waves of lawsuits and vandalism.
It sounds like such an easy medium for a scam. Maybe it worked as intended here but that’s not going to continue to be the case. Someone could have as easily said they wanted to fund a petition of some sort and then run away with the funds.
As for Chick-Fil-A, if San Fran doesn’t want them then they don’t deserve Chick-Fil-A.
I added those to my profile page. Thanks!
My wife and I will now try to get to a Chick-Fil-A much more often now. The only one within an hour’s drive is at a college campus.
Precisely. And it's not even that Chik Fil A is supposed to be discriminating against homosexuals, even though that's the lie being peddled. The business doesn't care who anyone has sex with; how would they know? They'll sell their products to whoever walks in the door with the money to buy them.
The company is being punished because the owner of the company happens to support groups that oppose homosexual marriage. So the homosexual activists have to make an example of Chik Fil A in order to intimidate other businesses. They can't go after the stockholders, because the company isn't publicly traded, so they'll try to hit the company by keeping them from expanding into certain markets.
It all traces back to what they did to Anita Bryant in the 70s, it was meant as a warning message to all celebrities, that if they didn’t toe the line, the gays would destroy your career. And now, there are few celebrities who dare speak out.
Maybe next door to In & Out Burger on ECR would be appropriate. Two All-American eating establishments in the same block - wonderful.
I sure hope so. They are outstanding and just about the best fast food place out there.
Their food is delicious, their service is incredible and every aspect of the experience is fantastic.
We've gone to several and their workers will help us find a table, stop by to pick up trash, ask how we are enjoying the meal and experience and bring us refills. This is for a McDonald's fast food type of restaurant!
Honestly, they blow away other FF restaurants. If the market works, and that's at risk these past 3/4 years, CFA will be there longer than the jerks complaining about them.
Medically speaking, given the high risk of their mental illness being marketed as a "lifestyle", it's likely a guarantee.
How about WeGo for those who support Chik-Fil-A?
And having lived near Mountain View, CA, I know personally that anything from there sux....
I get a chicken sandwich or chicken salad, and a milkshake at CFA at least once week.

Yes you are a very lucky person.
Mrs. Peet and I made a point to stop at a CFA while we were visiting S.C. last spring. YUM-YUM...
Hmmm, maybe you shouldn't be using the internet, or a web browser then.
Turns out, our daughter and I are going to a concert in Somerville MA that night, and one of the only two CFAs in MA happens to be in Burlington, MA. It's slightly out of our direct route, but still 'on our way' to the concert location.
I know where WE'LL be having supper that night! ;o)
I have never been real fond of the menu at Chick-Fil-A. But I have just instructed my family that we are going to be eating there quite regularly from now on, when their stores are nearby in our travels or our errand running.
If a conservative doesnt like recreational drugs, he ...
Actually, in concept, I agree, as long as no tax dollars go to the “user,” and that the “user” is given a torture penalty three times worse than what harm he may have done to another while under the influence.
Basically, I believe that any thing done under the influence of ANYTHING recreational, taken voluntarily, is completely premeditated.
By the way, I would volunteer to be the torturer to that premeditated maimer/killer.

And all of the above applies to the drug alcohol, yes?

Theres no such thing as a recreational drug.
If a pseudo-conservative doesnt like recreational drugs, he tapdances around the principle of limited government. (A recreational drug is, of course, a drug taken with recreational intent.)
Yes, in an ideal world. My aunt lost her legs to such a person.
I’d like to more painfully remove the arms legs of the guy who did that.
And if a psuedo-conservative doesn’t like having a severe torture penalty applied to himself for the same kind of torture he willingly, even gleefully, gave another after choosing to take the substance that took his mind away, then he has no understanding of personal responsibility and accountability and he believes government should be “limited” only to the extent it lets him get away with maiming others while not being personally maimed.
I agree, that would be perfect.
