The Australian foreign minister has privately warned Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney that foreign leaders see “America in decline.”
That’s according to Romney, who says he met with Foreign Minister Bob Carr in a San Francisco hotel Sunday evening shortly before a Republican fundraiser.
Romney says Carr suggested that America could improve that international perception “with one budget deal” that helps balance the budget.
A Romney spokesman says the foreign minister requested the private meeting.
The news likely comes as quite an embarrassment for supporters of President Obama. Not only has the president apparently managed an America “in decline,” but one of his campaign platforms was restoring America’s image to the rest of the world after eight years of George W. Bush.
In fact, on January 19th he said his administration had already accomplished the goal.
“What we were also able to do, I think, is to restore a sense of America as the sole, indispensable power,” the president said, “a country that, whether it’s responding to an earthquake or a tsunami, or it’s dealing with a dictator that is about to ruthlessly butcher his people, we aren’t out there alone.”
Mitt Romney is scheduled to launch his first trip abroad as his party’s presumptive presidential nominee later this week. He’s set to meet with leaders in England, Israel and Poland, who may have similar words of advice.
Personally, I think it’s worse than that! I think we have almost sunk to the point of no return. If BO is reelected, he’ll finish the job in short order. If Romney is elected, he will do it more slowly. Either way, America as we knew it is gone. I hate to be so pessimistic, but that’s how I feel.
That was Obama's real goal, after all.
People who actually thought that his goal was to raise America's standing in the world were credulous fools...
These “foreign leaders” need to take a good hard look at their own houses before they comment on ours.
Reminds me of when Kerry claimed that foreign leaders were talking sh*t behind our backs.
Someone who has been unable to see that Obummer has just about managed us into oblivian must have been asleep for the past 3 1/2 years. Even a 6th grader could tell you that. I certainly hope Romney has the common sense God gave a goose to realize it as well.

And yet, I still hear people singing his praises LOUDLY! How can people be so blind and/or stupid? I just feel like our whole world has gone topsy-turvy and I can’t bear to be around anyone who can’t see him for what he is and the damage he has already done and still wants to do!

Except it’s both parties to an extent. The Dems are worst (perhaps) in that they’re about gaming the systems to break things.
However the GOP is meanwhile also gaming the systems, to China. That also needs to be fixed.
Both together, leave growth with no remaining supporters.

Is Mittens running a campaign as bad as his predecessor did in 2008? It looks that way to me; again no fire in the belly. It’s what our little Republican primary voters said they wanted.

The world's wised up (not buying our treasuries) - - if Obama gets four more years we won't be able to stop the decline. The country will be poor - for decades. Romney's good with money ( that's about all he's good with) but he could stop the decline...
Oz worried that the fiscal cliff is coming just as Mittens is inaugurated, ergo the 'one budget deal' talk...
It's also very telling that Oz sent their Catholic envoy to Mittens, rather than that atheist prig masquerading as PM.

If you’ve got about an hour to spare, you would do well to sit through this talk Trevor Loudon recently gave to the Ocean County, NJ Tea Party about the history of Communist infiltration throughout the world, and especially here in America where they finally managed to get one of their own into the White House. Much of this you have heard before, but the facts have never been put together like you see here.
Of course America’s in decline. The irreversible damage has been done socially, morally and economically. The question to be answered 6 Nov. is how rapidly that decline will continue. We passed our tipping point years ago.
Romney has been handed a great campaign ad. “obama is spending more money on his campaign than he’s bringing in. He’s doing the same thing with your tax dollars. He just can’t seem to stop himself. The American people are going to have to stop him.”
