Others jumped on this believing every word the media said and assumed the mother knew her son was capable of evil, mass murder etc...
It was just bizarre how hysterical people became when hearing that, assuming the Mom knew this would happen, but remained silent.
In a world gone mad.
Imagine being woken up by getting a phone call at 5:45 in the morning by some ABC reporter who starts asking you questions about mass shooting in Colorado that you know nothing about. Then he asks “Is your name Arlene Holmes and do you have son named James Holmes who lives in Aurora, Colorado?” and you answer, ‘Yes, you have the right person”, meaning that “yes” that is my name and “yes” that is the name of my son.
When pressed for further details, she told the reporter “I need to call the police. I need to fly to Colorado.” mostly likely meaning “I need to call the police to find out exactly what’s going on” and I need to get to Colorado, perhaps not that she immediately thought her son was the shooter but perhaps thought that he may be among those injured.
I can’t imagine what was going through her mind during that call and neither can any of us.
