Record Number of Openly Gay Candidates Running for Congress

A record number of openly gay candidates are running for Congress.

The contenders all say that their sexual orientation is pretty much a nonissue on the campaign trail, Roll Call’s Joshua Miller reports.

“No one cares,” said Kyrsten Sinema, who is openly bisexual and a top candidate in the Democratic primary in Arizona’s 9th district. “It’s about my history of work in the district. … They don’t care three straws about the other stuff.”

Other openly gay challenger candidates with a real shot of coming to Congress include: Sean Patrick Maloney, taking on freshman Rep. Nan Hayworth (R) in New York’s 18th district; Mark Pocan (D), running in Wisconsin’s open 2nd district; Mark Takano (D), running for California’s new 41st district; and Richard Tisei (R), taking on Rep. John Tierney (D) in Massachusetts’ 6th district.

There are at least four other openly gay Congressional candidates this year, according to a count from the pro-LGBT-equality Human Rights Campaign, but all are long shots in states such as Idaho.

Today’s “alternative lifestylers” are yesterdays deviants...they can run...but they can’t...win.

Openly bi-sexual means openly promiscuous, it means they will screw anything.

Vastly over-represented on tv, in movies and music, and now in politics. WTH is happening to my country?

Who would have believed that in this nation someone that was raised largely abroad, has declared himself Muslim in the past and even wrote of his support to this religion in his own book that was coauthored by his friend a communist and terrorist, a small time local political figure that like Jesse Jackson rose to power on the back of the poor with cries of class warfare would be sitting in the White House today?

In the new America being a pervert might actually help get one elected. It's the new fad in a secular nation with no common national identity.

I still can’t believe it.

I remember when I first heard the name, Barack Hussein Obama. I said to myself, “Good luck buddy. There’s no way America is going to vote for anyone with THAT name, especially after 9/11.”

How wrong I was - and I still can’t believe he is in the White House.

If the biggest city in Texas can have an open lesbian mayor, all bets are off. I bet we will get a gay President before we get a conservative one. Still, there is a strength in holding on to righteousness in an ocean of sin.

Same here. I remember hearing about him 2004 and laughing at the fact that he was running for Senate. Then the idiots in Illinois elected the POS. Then the idiots all over the country elected him.

Amen. Believers don't need to be petulant when adversity comes because they aren't living for this world. I say "don't need to be" by faith, knowing full well my own whining nature. Thanks for the encouragement.

When the Rapture takes place all the perved out LIEberals will secretly miss all those Bible believers because the hedge of favor and protection will be totally gone. The leftists will have their nirvana when the SHTF full blast—they aint gonna like it but they will get their wish. Sayonara godless leftards.
