The father’s race, if it was legitimately entered as “African” most likely would have been coded as 2 - Black. The vital statistics report said: “a reported mixture of Negro with any other race is included in the Negro group” ... I’m pretty sure that if the Hawaiian registrar saw African on a birth certificate, they would have assumed it was Negro and would have coded it as No. 2.

Honestly, it wouldn’t even matter much which one they used as the term “African” would never have been used in that square in 1961. It becomes more concerning when one compares the #9 from the earlier manual (the one in use at the time) because it indicates “No Information Given”, which means that square should have been EMPTY, same with the other square.

It might also be of interest to note - are these the SPECIFIC HAWAIIAN codes? Hawaii was in a different system during the time they were transitioning, IIRC. You need to look at the specific Hawaiian code indexes. (I tried to look at the CDC link, but it was taking forever to download.)

And can you tell me, if the 69-71 coding was used and the "DETAIL RACE OF MOTHER" is the "Same codes as Detail Race of Father", why is there...what is that...@an "a"...next to the Mother's place of birth instead of a 1?

The same thing goes for FATHER'S EDUCATION - DETAIL Same code structure as Mother's Detail Education (pgs 16 and 17)

My little brother was born in Los Angeles County, CA in 1961. Where it says 'race of father' on his bc, it says 'negro'.

Some politically correct forger inserted 'African' on Obie's bc. No one would have put that on an American child's bc in 1961.

Yes answers would be nice, why not ask the CCP?
Here we can only speculate without more information. It does look like they may have made an error without having more information to go on. If so IMO htey should own up to it. These things happen in complex investigations, I doubt it was intentional as that would be foolish.

The other side is putting out a bunch of nonsense that other things have been debunked and IMO have not.

OJ still did it even if the glove did not fit. Its one piece of a ton of evidence.

FYI when we were first doing research the term Afrikan pointed to a birth record from several countries on the continent whose government procedures dated back to the Dutch spice routes. Kenya, South Africa and a couple of others use/used three terms to designate race. AfriKan was used for those who were descendant of one of the native tribes. Another term was used for Europeans and a third, derived from the same root word as mulatto for those of mixed heritage.
