Cardon is basically funding himself. That 7.1 million is mostly his own money. Flake is not rich but his campaign money is from donors. Cardon is an unknown quantity. He has NO voting record and I am afraid he is a Dem in Repub clothing. Remember how Obama fooled the majority of voters in 2008?
Clinton sent the Marines down to patrol the border and they shot/killed a Mexican-American teenage boy who was minding goats and plinking with a 22 rifle.
One reason I haven’t endorsed Cardon is that I don’t know enough about him... but Flake to me is repugnant, he’s only one step above the scumbag Mack of Florida, who called Arizona “Nazi Germany” for daring to enforce the borders. This RINO scum has no business holding office, period. They’re no different than the degenerate race-baiting, America-haters that is so typical of the Democrat party today.
The ACU elected a Muslim with CAIR/Hamas ties to its board, at the insistence of Grover Norquist (also on its board) whose hands are most unclean with radical Muslim alliances.
Wil Cardon is NOT a “tea party candidate”. He is just another Mormon multi-millionasire who would be totally unreliable on immigration if elected - just like Flake. the problem is the LDS Church, which has adopted illegal alien amnesty as a new core value. BTW, this “endorsement” is meaningless, Flake would already have won by 20 pts.

I don’t know if it is a good call or not, since I haven’t kept up with this race much and don’t know that much about Cardon. My understanding is, however, that Cardon has hit Flake on immigration issues and in my opinion is doing all of us a service in doing so. May the more conservative candidate, whoever he is, prevail.
As to Palin, I think she obviously made a good call with Mourdock over Lugar but don’t think her choice of Hatch over Liljenquist was a good call. No doubt Hatch has not been the persistant fly in the ointment that Lugar was, and Liljenquist was not the candidate that Mourdock was, but undeniably Hatch is another entrenched Club member who is more of the problem than the solution.

If it means that we should go with the incumbent or less conservative alternative if that is the only way you can win, I would have thought that a Republican challenger in Utah would be as safe as a Republican challenger in Missouri, yet Palin backed the challenger in Missouri and the entrenched incumbent in Utah. Looks like Republicans could have “kept what you can” in Utah with Liljenquist. I would think that would be the case in Arizona, too, though I don’t know anything about the Dim challenger in AZ this year.

How is it unconstitutional? The purpose of the armed forces is to protect the country. Defending the border against and invading army (in uniform or not) is still a valid armed forces duty.

Also, when Rubio recently was pushing his version of the Nightmare Act, Flake was quoted as favoring allowing illegal children who grew up here to stay—amnesty.
I would only back Flake on this if all of the illegal youths move into his house and he is financially responsible for them. I haven’t heard him offer to house and provide for them though.
It would be interesting to see what the unemployment rate would be nationally if illegals were promptly driven back to their home countries (and to the moron politicians that claim we can’t deport them all — we don’t have to. You make the environment hostile to invaders and most will leave by their own accord).
It’s appalling just how many serious problems in this country could be resolved quickly if only the politicians (and liberal activist judges — including the phony Roberts) stopped trying to impede their being fixed (and that’s both parties).

Absolutely. The availability of jobs in this country is the worst since the Great Depression and the politicians steadfastly refuse to make a connection between that and mass importation of foreign workers. That in and of itself is sufficient reason to oppose any candidate, R or D, who refuses to get serious about immigration.

Yep. Crowded schools where you have to teach multiple languages, bankrupted hospitals where the ERs had to treat illegals for nothing, prisons with upwards of 30-35% Hispanic immigrants, illegals driving while intoxicated with relative impunity . . . . And you are right, the Republicans are barely (if any) better on this issue than Dims.
This should give some assurance to the Tea Party people that Flake is worthy of their support.
What I see Palin doing this cycle is getting out there early to endorse the best candidate who can win, so hopefully that will head off any Tea Party challenger who may not hold up well in the general election.
Keep reading. Flake is bad news. Almost as bad as Mack in FL.

Sarah Palin is still running for President. She is the only one in the Republican Party who actually studied Reagan’s methods and is following them as closely as she can. That means that her final sprint will come after the kenyan’s second or, less likely, after Romney’s one term. Reagan slogged through several cycles building support in the Party as well as in the population. He took a lot of IOUs over time from all parts of the Party short of the Leftest part. Other than Reagan and seemingly, Palin, Conservatives never figured that out. Rockefeller Republicans do it as a matter of course, each in his turn. If Mr. Gingrich had done that from the time he left Congress he would be the Nominee this time. In an equal matchup between him and Romney with both having gathered the requisite political support over a period of years, Newt would have gotten the nod over the Massachustts Liberal in an easy walk. Palin was snatched into the center of the game prematurely by McCain and has held off the Run until she has built her base as Reagan did.
Oh I don’t know, maybe that silly little Posse Comitaus Act thingy expressly forbids it.

As required by Title 10 USC, Section 375 the secretary of defense issued Department of Defense Directive 5525.5, which precludes members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine Corps from direct participation in a search, seizure, arrest, or other similar activity unless participation in such activity by such member is otherwise authorized by law.
The PCA generally prohibits U.S. military personnel from direct participation in law enforcement activities. Some of those law enforcement activities would include interdicting vehicles, vessels, and aircraft; conducting surveillance, searches, pursuit and seizures; or making arrests on behalf of civilian law enforcement authorities. Prohibiting direct military involvement in law enforcement is in keeping with long-standing U.S. law and policy limiting the military’s role in domestic affairs.”
