Police recovered numerous bullet casings at the scene, but had made no arrests as of this morning.
About 15 minutes prior, a 13-year-old boy and a 18-year-old man were each wounded as they stood in the 7200 block of South Artesian Avenue, police said.
The boy was taken to Christ Medical Center in good condition with a gunshot wound to the left thigh. The boy later told police he simply heard gunshots and felt pain.
An acquaintance drove the older victim to Holy Cross Hospital, where he was being treated for gunshots to the back and his right foot.
About five of the 14 people killed in the Southwest Side community this year were 18 or younger, according to a Tribune homicide analysis.

Something must be wrong in my neighborhood here in semi-rural east Tennessee. We're gun saturated, with just about everybody having and keeping loaded guns, the sherif's police are at last a 10 minute call away, and we haven't even had an accidental shooting since 1987 when I moved here. Of course, we don't have very many Amish either.
Maybe they're BOTH responsible.

These people think they are in Africa engaging in old fashioned tribal war. The tribal wars are basically wars of hatred and revenge. Wars over someone having something (land, rights, money, status) that someone else doesn’t have. How is this different from the gang wars Chicago?
