Manchin to vote with Dems on taxes (Manchin supports tax increases on small-businesses)

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) announced Tuesday that he will vote on Democratic legislation to extend the Bush-era tax rates.

Manchin said he will join Democrats in voting to extend the rates for income up to $250,000 a year. The Democratic legislation would allow Bush-era rates on higher annual income to expire. Republicans want to extend all the rates for another year.

The vote on the Democratic plan is expected to take place on Wednesday.

"When considering these two proposals, I kept two priorities in mind: putting our fiscal house back in order and restoring fairness to the tax code," Manchin said in speech remarks provided by his office. "So, while I would prefer a bipartisan, comprehensive solution, I will support the plan to keep taxes low on families that make less than $250,000."

Manchin had previously voted against the Democratic proposal.

The junior senator from West Virginia is up for reelection in November. President Obama remains highly unpopular in Manchin's state and Manchin has not hesitated to break with his party and Obama on a number of issues and votes. He opposed a Democratic-backed payroll tax cut extension bill.

You took the words right out of my mouth! Coburn has been equal parts wretched and climber. A GREAT disappointment.
Frankly, he reminds me of Santorum. Get pure gold from his lips one minute, and then his big and stupid actions prove to be a kick in the stomach. Just, BLAST!!!

Stringing this so called tax cut along will not create jobs,
it will only keep the economy and business stalled.

Give us business owners something to plan with for five-ten years and
just maybe we'll buy equipment, vehicles, and train some people.

This current Admin pisses me off. Including boner for being an ass and a coward.

I consider Coburn worse than that. I believe he is a ‘Sleeper cell lefty’. His vote on Sunday, late at night, five days before Christmas of the 2010 lame duck session,to push through the stalinist,’Food Safety and Modernization Act’, was unconscionable. That Act,is designed to control the food supply by over-regulation and use denial of food as a weapon against the American people. It even allows Obama control over home gardens. Classic leninism. Coburn’s single vote could have buried it,instead,he chose to let it pass by ‘Unanimous Consent’. Also, the only reason Coburn has a high ACU rating,is because he votes against liberal Bills he has no chance of stopping and votes for Conservative Bills he has no chance of getting passed. Traitor!

Demon rats may argue with each other but they all embrace higher income taxes, because they know how to spend your money better than you know.

The stupids of West Virginia voted against their interests when they elected this pos.
The state has ONE industry and his party is doing their best to destroy that industry.

All these politicians wine, dine & socialize. They become buddies & play the game. Sooner or later, most of them fold. JMO.
