We expect anti-gun nonsense from people such as Bill Moyers and Little Big Gulp Bloomberg, but we might hope that Fox News’s Bill O’Reilly wouldn’t evoke an eye-rolling “Oh, really!” when discussing the subject. But as the crusty commentator further proved last night while arguing with a guest, Congressman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), he still hasn’t done his homework on the firearms issue.
In full-fire mode while talking about the Aurora tragedy with Chaffetz, O’Reilly insisted that there should be special reporting to the FBI when people purchase, as he put it, “heavy weapons … mortars, howitzers, machine guns....” The ignorance displayed through that comment is profound.
First, if we instituted O’Reilly’s policy, obtaining a mortar, howitzer, or machine gun would be far easier than it currently is, as such weapons are tightly controlled under the National Firearms Act. That was one of the most ignorant rants I’ve ever seen. And the guest could do little to counter O’Reilly’s talk-over though to his credit, he did try. To say O’Reilly is misinformed is far too generous -— this is willful ignorance.
I had it on while at the gym on the bike..Trust me, they have very few channels at the gym. Normally I avoid that guy like the plague.
It was typical O’Reilly, all emotion with no logic based argument presented. The minute he is faced with a refute to his emotion, he poo-poos it, shouts loud over his opponent and doesn’t engage on his debate opponent’s arguement.

I watched BOR years ago, after a couple months simply could not stand it/him any more.
With BOR, it’s all about him.
O’Reilly is like the video version of the NY Post.
I gave up on O’Rielly years ago when he proved himself to be weak and pandering, especially to big problems, like Obama, that challenge the very existence of our nation and freedoms.
He always takes the middle ground, and never stands and fights for the big issues. He is useless in our fight to save our freedoms and our nation.
WHOA! We can buy MORTARS if we jump through the right hoops? The NFA paperwork for even a silencer is enough to make a grown man cry. I can’t imagine what sort of paperwork I’d need to buy an M30 or an M121 launcher and shells.
After confronted with the facts re bazookas and fully auto weapons not being sold without ATF oversight, he got huffy, uber defensive, and started whining about ammunition.

Question: What is the positive that one might expect from watching BOR?
Normally, I look for the information from his quests.
If they are not allowed to speak, then what would be the point?
I stopped watching BOR until he is through those difficult menopausal years days.
I think as conservatives we gain credibility with everyone when we recognize that even a fellow conservative is full of it.
Bill is full of himself. He is, in his own words, a “pinhead”.
I will gladly distance myself from that moron.
